Experienced this one today blocking the in-laws drive.

Her excuse was that she just thought it was an alley, wtf that makes it ok I have no idea as even if it was just an alley it's very obviously in use.
What makes it even worse is that the house she was visiting is the one on the left of the picture. ie the one with a massive amount of empty drive to park on!
I thought then you were referring to the LR that is almost off road. In fact all wheels on hard ground!!

my friend used to have a 911 and park in disabled spaces!

he had terminal cancer and was registered disabled from the chemo.

people would always shout at him as he got out for his tiring trip around the shops.

he'd just shout back "im disabled not bloody poor!!"

haha

JJ
Then display or be called a prick it is quite simple.
he did..... but all people see is a guy getting out of a 911 in a disabled space - don't bother to check!

but don't a second look to an old person getting out of a brown austin allegro wink

I get it as well when picking up my elderly Mother.....told one guy to wait, if I did not return in 5 mins with an old lady I would give him £20, if I did he should gibe me a £5, he left mumbling smile

Google photos is a bunch of st that's why. It *was* when I posted it and even checked with incognito but it seems the path has now changed. Hopefully fixed now.

In my experience poss partly that, more a case of people expect you to be using sticks or wheels imho.
People do that when I get out of the car 1st, all fit & healthy, then have to help my disabled missus out of the passenger seat.
Even worse when we had the MX 5, I had to pull her out of the seat sometimes!
And we *may* have done it deliberately if some old biddy was giving us the evil eye biggrin

To me, what this is saying is that many people feel protective of disabled spaces for disabled folk. A good thing surely especially as they are mostly not policed by the stores or the authority. The only thing that people who care about the abuse of disabled spaces can do is try to make abusers feel guilty.
Also at least some of those looking will be looking to see if anyone needs help.

You're right and, in all seriousness, I don't mind so much. Some can be a little 'over protective' though.

I wonder what proportion say something to the store/car park owner, I bet it's negligible. At some point the large retailers might realise the financial potential of encouraging this sector a bit more https://www.gov.uk/government/news/high-street-cou...

More the fact that there was almost certainly some contact getting into that position.

Surely not if they drove straight onto the parking area.
