Rorhl is spot on with this place. I made the mistake of buying from them and really regret it.

You had an asset with a value. If the car was bought for, say, £5000 a few years about, then raffle tickets to the value of £1500 are sold, have you made monetary gain? Or to look at it a different way, if the car is valued at £2000 now and £1500 of raffle tickets are sold, is that still a monetary gain?

I'm not saying it isn't, just musing over the definitions.

I think the value of the 'prize' is semantics. The fact that a private individual is receiving money based on other people taking a risk that they may or may not receive something for their money still classfies as gambling, and therefore illegal to conduct without a licence.
