Spotted this bad boy in Devon, hopefully it's the same one !irocfan said:
Built by a chap I know from a otherwise scrap Corrado, it was a terrible state with a smashed up Reiger bodykit when he first got it. It's mainly used as a joke to annoy various VW forums but the owner is absolutely spot on, every bit a car enthusiast and a very handy mechanic so although at first glance these cars may appear lobbed together there is a lot of high grade components involved. Here are a couple of his other creations for you to pass judgement on and waffle about chavs/rats/ruined suspension and all the other cliches that are rolled out...
The Scirocco is particularly interesting being a half and half rat/restoration.
Sounds to me like it's got an illegal exhaust, wide arches probably filled out with spacers rather than longer arms, stretched tires, diesel engine fitted by someone other than him (showing his level of mechanical skill there) and a seriously dodgy steering wheel.
I suspect the collapsible column is still there but other than that, it doesn't look all that safe, let alone comfortable.
He also says "the car is sold with no MOT and no TAX but I don't really see why it shouldn't pass another one pretty easily." which really doesn't make it clear whether he's MOTed it since the mods, I suspect not.
By all means correct me.
Perhaps if it is all as good as you say, you can help your friend re-write the ebay listing to reflect this?

You see the dish on the original wheels? Knowing what offsets they come in, they'd be no need for spacers. How about the exhaust, tell me what you think makes it illegal?
The exhaust is a front exit straight through with two motorbike cans, which I would imagine is not only illegally aloud but obnoxiously so too, though it is a turbo diesel, so perhaps not..
As for the wheels, the centre of the rear wheels is outside where the original bodywork was, it even looks as though the inside of the wheel is further out than the hub would have originally been, so either it's spaced or the beam has been modified or they're really daft wheels (well we can see they're daft), not to mention with the rear so much wider than the front the handling is going to be interesting.
Either way I'd not get in that thing.

Nah, its an old school style VIP car.
This kinda thing.
I know the actual car, from what I recall it has clear rear lenses.
I know that the term VIP is very ambiguous and used loosely, but what kind of 'VIP' would want to drive one of those? Harvey Price? This kinda thing.
