That belongs to a friend of a friend, the attention to detail on the restoration is great (it was a wreck to start with) but that front end just ruins the whole thing for me. I suspect it scores huge "scene points" though, for me I'd rather go around corners. thetapeworm said:

When you lower a Beetle beyond a sensible amount the front wheels can't turn in the arches without fouling, reducing the turning radius radically. To counteract this modifiers narrow the front track of the car by cutting a couple of inches out of the middle of the axle assembly, allowing the wheels to turn again.
The owner of the 911 pictured above has carried out a similar modification.

Reducing the front track makes it harder to turn, no? (Wheel fouling from lowering as Rohrl mentioned above notwithstanding. )

another post-gym find while out earlier. (cropped the photo a little)
318ci, spoiler, exhaust, bonnet vents, lowered.the camber was very off aswell. looking at the photos they stripped the interior too. cheap track car? will the spoiler even do anything?
I'm not 'down with the kids' but woundn't those tires rub the arches? 318ci, spoiler, exhaust, bonnet vents, lowered.the camber was very off aswell. looking at the photos they stripped the interior too. cheap track car? will the spoiler even do anything?

While I appreciate the work thats gone into that Porsche, it just seems like the front beam thing has been done purely to make it look like a rich mans slammed Beetle. Would have been epic if it'd been left normal up front with those wheels.
Suppose its making some 20-something have a good tug on Instagram though.
