Isn't that the full Rieger bodykit from back when the Calibra was current
Apart from the wheel choice, I quite like the look of that
In fact, you're right! It's a Rieger body kit! Still, it doesn't help itself with the Lexarse lights, multiple tailpipes and Ferrari badges Apart from the wheel choice, I quite like the look of that

The fella who owns it has been all over Faceache saying it's his build and he's doing it to go against the grain etc etc - but to me it looks like all the things people collectively exercise within the VAG 'scene', amplified moreso for excessive internet fame (you know what they say about publicity). And to that end, the owner has accomplished all he wanted to.
It is by far the biggest crock I've seen at a UK show - and I've seen a lot.
Never understood why people trash a car because its 'against the grain' or to 'annoy the haters'. Waste, still looks like a brick. It is by far the biggest crock I've seen at a UK show - and I've seen a lot.

Wish I took a photo of it now, at the nearest sainsburys a bmw like this one except matte purple, big fk off 'speedhunters' sticker on the windscreen, stripped out interior, slammed beyond the point where it would rip the bumper off going over a speed hump and excessive camber. On stock wheels. It looked tragic, some old bloke looked in his 70's giving it dirty looks as well whilst walking around it

This thing has been hurting the internet all weekend. Some additional photos from a recent show:
It is trailered, as opposed to driven, because it can't be driven. It's clearly had a lot of money, man-hours and thought go into it to get it looking so.. er.. different.
Two schools of thought on this:
1) If it's a Lupo GTi it'd be an awesome waste as they're rare anyway
2) If it's not, and if it's a diesel say, then it's an awesome waste in any case

Looks like the Lupo winged box of tat is a diesel, there is even a video of it moving on Instagram.

Get rid of the Ferrari badges & the clear lights, plus change the alloys for a decent set of genuine deep dish BBS and swap to a turbo'd engine for some power to match the looks, and I'd happily still drive that or a similar kitted car from the same era now Apart from the wheel choice, I quite like the look of that
I loved those cars when I was in my early teens when cars like that were first around and being built as they just stood out so much. Those kits from the likes of Reiger, Dimma, Mattig, FibreSports, etc, were very much a late '80's to early '90's thing so I can see why some look at them in the present and think WTF - but then I feel the same way about cars like the Lupo a page back

At least the arches were filled by proper specialist manufactured offset deep dish Compomotive, BBS, etc, alloys back in the day. Of course by the time the mid '00's came around people decided doing it properly with alloys & drivetrain mods wasn't the way to go and started fitting stupidly thick metal spacer blocks instead
I remember the Fiesta JWRC that Pumaspeed built back in late '00's to promote their business. The kit looked great, they fitted an FRS engine for power, but instead of modifying the rear suspension, etc, to actually match the JWRC cars they were replicating, they decided to fit massive 6" or 8" solid spacers and excessively long nuts either side to create the wide track.
I remember someone on one of the Ford forums bought the car and said it was horrendous to drive in normal conditions, let alone the wet, and it was even worse if you attempted to drive the car as it was intended due to the way the rear end was put together.

I have to voice my support for the Rieger Calibra and cars of its ilk. I'd drive that without the Lexus lights, etc. Besides, lots of kits from that era were mental, like the Mattig Astras and Mantas. Apparently the Astras at least are horrible to drive, and I could believe it.
Don't they have something daft like 345 tyres on the back?Levin said:

I remember that car from when it sat outside Superspeed in Edinburgh. I think they closed in the early 00s. They had quite a few tarted up cars and every one of them was so badly done. It wasn't just the tacky kits and colours, the quality of the workmanship was dreadful.
