Not entirely sure how this has come about; Citroen cut funding to the Paris-Dakar team maybe?

Just an air suspended C5 in the highest (service) position for the suspension. They didn't provide a jack with the air-sprung systems, if you got a flat you would put the suspension to highest, insert the axle stand provided, then set it to its lowest/normal setting - hey presto the wheel rises and the car's jacked up.
Citroen didn't use anything so common as air. It's nitrogen gas with a mineral oil
i'd have thought that the term "hydro-pneumatic" would mean it was some kind of watery air mix...
"Hydraulics" refers to any liquid fluid power; pneumatics relates to gaseous fluid power.
Guessing they changed it for the C6 as mine has a jack not an axle stand...

The hydractive system is based on an LHM/LDS as a fluid system which is controlled via spheres which are also pressurised with Nitrogen, obviously it has an electronic brain controlling it per se.
Sorry, some imprecision with the definition there!

I think they decided to chuck a jack back in once they realised the suspension wasn't always foolproof!
Every hydropneumatic Citroen I've had has had a jack, not an axle stand (2 x BX, 2 x Xantia, 1 x C5 and my current C6)

Only the DS (SM ?) had a stand, the jacks are standard scissor types. When changing a wheel just raise the suspension and slip the extended jack under the lift points, lower the suspension and that wheel will rise clear for changing.
Depending on the ground you may need a turn or two to aid clearance.

Still better than standard cars and a LOT faster.

205 tyres? Really?

fking stance-nation wkers furiousfuriousfurious

I doubt whatever car he has can accept center lock wheels laugh
rofl
If he has to ask about tyres fitting, which he could find for himself with 5 minutes of research, then he's definitely got no clue about fitting centrelock wheels to a conventional hub car.

It's a 6 series (E24) with a Koenig bodykit on it.

Here is another angle

Gambella also offer a dodgy kit for a E24

Would have been done around the time it wasn't too rare, periodic and well known body kit.

Highly likely to have been fitted when the car was brand new, as they were a bit of a statement at the time.

I saw something that might have been that 'thing' in Farnborough t'other night. It was completely unlit though, driving along in the dark. I had thought it was some kind of Zakspeed Capri replica, but it was unliveried so I'm now thinking it was this BMW?
