A roof mounted gun box from BMW on the 5 Series? I think they did one that featured a moulded gun-shaped insert for the glove box too.

It'd take a lot longer than that - not least because the power operation didn't open it, it was to adjust the height of it...
Are you sure? Coul dhave sworn there was a thread on the things on here complete with video

Edited to add. vid here

Electric armrest Its hard to tell if it lifts or open tbh, so I could easily be wrong
100% sure. In the end, I couldn't be bothered to fit the one that came out of the XM I broke into my other XM... The whole centre console would have had to come out to bolt the frame down. The unpowered one was just the height of the powered one fully down, and a bit too low.

Oh, I remember you could order the MK1 TT with a removable hardtop for the Convertible version, I seem to remember it was incredibly expensive and revolting to look at.

Now you see, I think all removable hardtops look awkward and crap but that ones really not too bad at all.

Reminds me of Wayne's World where "Stacey", the "psycho hose beast" bought him a gun rack when he didn't have any guns. Great film.

MINI convertible 'openometer'. Not sure if it was an option or standard, but it's a guage to remind you how crap the weather is in the UK, essentially.

Why? The volume of water on the screen will be less so dropping to intermittent or off stops them squeaking across the screen.
Indeed. Exactly what I do with manual wipers! Used to like my old Clio 172 as it decreased the speed of the wipers when at a halt (non-auto wipers).

Please do enlighten me how, when it's hammering down with rain, there is less water on the screen? Does it stop raining round your area when the car stops. When you park in a supermarket car park and wait for your passengers, does the rain stop then as well?

Think about the mechanics of it. Least rain would hit the front screen if you were reversing at a speed not quite sufficient to break the laminar air flow over the screen. The faster you travel forwards, the more rain will hit it.

I really don't follow that. Walking or running through the rain, you still get soaked.
In addition, the airflow will blow more water off the screen than gravity would.
However, the physics don't interest me, I can see with my eyes. wink
