Is it just my imagination, or is there only a driver in that flyby video?

How on earth could this happen?

Dont you have to go through numerous gates and even through a tunnel under the track to get to the pit lane at Brands?

Im not sure how this could be anything other than real though. Its certainly nothing but negative from an advertising point of view for VW - 'Buy one of our cars and be a complete fking moron!'

Quite astounding.

I was at Brands this weekend and once through the main public gate there was no restriction on driving to the outer paddock or pit garages.

I was very surprised when there was no paddock passes needed for vehicles - having passes would have likely prevented this happening.

At least he managed to drive around in the correct direction and the speed differential between them and fun cup cars wasn't massive. It would have been a lot scarier joining a track with gt cars blasting past.
It's such a bizarre scenario that if I were marshaling I would have assume it was a medic car etc.

This has got to be a set up doesn't it? A Volkswagen day at brands hatch (I am assuming VW sponsored) and a young boy driving a new Polo manages to drive onto the track and off again without any body challenging him? Could it be possible that this was organised by VW's marketing department? Were the racers made aware this was happening? I just don't believe this is all as it seems.

It also looks like the drivers window is open, in the in car vid would it not be a hell of a lot noisier if the window was open?

Even Cadwell has a gate to get on track.
"Even" Cadwell? laugh
What's wrong with Cadwell?
Cadwell is my local track, very proud to have raced there (bikes) a couple of times but surely you know what I mean, a few years ago the paddock was all gravel with the most horrendous toilet facilities and that was about it.

Even further back my dad and his mates used to go there at night when the circuit was closed enter the track at the top of Charlies and race their bikes around with no one to bother them.

Fake. VW Race, car being driven is a VW, mentions Bentley during the video.

My thoughts too - yet somebody on here claims to have been in the race?

So it is an advert

So we a VW being driven by a half brain with a screaming annoying passenger.

The VW is then driven dangerously onto a track and it is left standing by much old VWs

Who paid for this advert?

Ford maybe?

Probably one of the most effective viral marketing stunts I have seen so far... wonder where it will stop?

Cannot be a marketing thing unless some idiot commissioned it without his bosses knowledge. Just imagine if the car had been struck by a racer.

Unless everyone was in on it, cars told to do an extra lap or two after the race and he would join them?

Still probably too high brow for Mummy's little accident to read...

Slightly amazed the daft bint in the passenger seat didn't yank the handbrake on in the pit given her protestations. They where very lucky, lucky to sneak through and lucky an unsighted race car passing another into Druids didn't rear end them.

That said I'm not sure how they can be punished (well other than the self inflicted humiliation from posting their knuckle dragging antics on facetube) I sort of hope the girls Dad is not amused and goes to town on the driver...
