Agreed. What would the charge be?

Unfortunately it's possible Brands Hatch will be punished rather than the idiot driver.

Assuming it's genuine rather than some sort of staged publicity stunt...

Wow, what an utter dick.

What could/should he be prosecuted for? Is there a specific offence for ttting about on a racetrack?

It does seem mental that there was nothing or no one there to just stop them driving on track. Who let them in the paddock in the first place!?

This would appear to be the person filming...

And by deduction this would appear to be the driver.

Two things have piqued my curiosity about that video, firstly in practical terms if they didn't feel like stopping then how would you stop them? Ramming with another car?

Also, did they break any laws? Only one I can think of is potentially trespass, but IANAL.

Looking at the driver's page it would appear he is a complete moron of biblical proportions!

Had a picture of a tyre with no tread whatsoever asking how much life it has in it and another video of his tt mate jumping a Transit over a humpback bridge, hope he fked his van!

There are plenty of service vehicles at Brands (including a Unimog), so you could probably get a decent PIT manoeuvre going on!

Again, IANAL, but this might apply? http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1994/33/sectio...

The danger is that a video like that will encourage some f**king retard to actually try it at some point, although I fail to see how they would be able to get on a real racetrack during a race.

I can think of at least one other track where virtually any vehicle in the paddock could get onto a live track, or only be stopped by a marshal standing in the way. There's a definite assumption that anyone with a car in the paddock can be trusted. While we know the driver and his mate, the girlfriend who's car it is might find life difficult too.

Stupidity beyond words. These "gangsters" thought it would be great to drive his girlfriends car onto a live track!!!! The scream the girl lets out as they are driving down the pit lane, is me almost driving into the side of them as I'm released from a pit stop, only stopped by the quick thinking of my pit crew!!! They then drive all the way around, ruined the end of a good race for everyone. Complete muppets, really hope Brands prosecutes based on the evidence on their own video!!

The marshals asked me what I thought they were doing, I thought they had gone the wrong way or it was a doctor getting to a car that had gone off at Druids, surreal situation.

I just hope he stuck to track limits and didn't touch the grass, that would really have got him in trouble.

I was racing at brands today and heard about this, but everyone seemed very confused by it all.
