Completely irrelevant for the offences being discussed.

The financial claim against him seems more likely to stick, but he obviously isn't going to have £100,000. A prolonged financial deduction would be something though.

One thing that has occured to me is that it is a clearly stated term on each entry ticket about staying off the circuit (and that failing to do so will result in prosecution). As he has clearly failed to abide by the these terms (and I'm sure there is wording along the lines of "by buying this ticket you agree to these terms"), perhaps that is an option for charging for him with something?
Hopefully so, though I predict that the legal consequences of his actions won't have severe enough consequences for him.

The bigger problem I see now is what changes are going to occur in Clubman racing as a consequence of this. Long after his name has been forgotten I fear that we will be dealing with the repercussions of his actions.
I fear this too. The problem is that this sort of scum mocks society in the knowledge that they have carte blanche to do exactly as they please as society will always blame an irrelevant third party (in this case the race organisers) and they themselves are only ever going to get a stern talking to by someone that's "very cross". These numbskulls lack the intelligence to comprehend rational explanations as to why they shouldn't do stupid things, therefore the only things that work with them are physical prevention (e.g. more "elf 'n' safety", which spoils things for those with more than two brain cells) or physically forcing them to cease and desist. Personally, I think we desperately need a return to corporal punishment - anything less is too soft and is seen as a joke by these cretins.

I think the best punishment for this type of plank is to force them to work under slave conditions, doing menial tasks until he's paid everyone whose money he's wasted back in full. Any refusals should prompt a beating and/or withdrawal of food/water. No doubt the limp-wristed, bleeding heart brigade will arrive momentarily to tell me I'm wrong. rolleyes

"This is Jack Cottle. I haven't yet had the opportunity to apologise to all the people and effort that was put in to organise the race. Due to
all of all the madness going on, and I guess I was still hyped up on adrenaline as it's not just going round the track that was a thrill, all the media afterwards has made my life so manic I haven't had the chance to sit back and think about what I have done. I am extremely sorry, i had no intentions of actually getting on the track. I thought i would have been stopped miles before, I guess I carried on because once I was in the pit lane that was it I made it, it was such a rush I could never of stopped to think I couldn't believe I made it! If someone flagged me down it would of killed the rush and put me back into reality and I would of stopped, but no one did It was a stupid thing to do there's no denying that, and I will regret the damaged it's caused for many years to come, at the same time it was still amazing haha! Come on who would of ever thought I'd manage to do what I did! Madness! In no way do I think it was the right thing to do, but I have to be honest, it felt amazing! Everyone should try and find a thrill in life that made me feel the way I did it was amazing, but maybe thrills within the law would be better! This really has made me take a step back and think! The sun did us over, they came into our house pretended to be our pals. Everything we said went in one ear and out the other. They made there own version of it and you all believed it. Saskia was never my girlfriend and i had clearly stated that to the sun reporters aswell! Sorry also for all my rude comments. But with what some of you have been saying, its made my blood boil as it would most of you. I dont take Insults very well. What i did was stupid but as bad as it is i did it in the safest way possible. One of the drivers in the race even commented on my page basically thanking me for the way I drove on the track, as it could of been a lot worse. I was very cautious of cars coming out of the pits checking numerous times and i stuck to the right hand side of the track letting faster cars pass on the left. I am very apoligetic to everyone this has effected, i never thought id actually be able to get any where near the track! If the event is this big why was there no security to prevent it, the only reason why i have acted up is cause people are acting like im hitler! Half of you hate me, half of you love me. I do live every day like its my last an i wouldnt change it for the world! Try living like it, your regret it later on!"

And a suitably pithy comment:

"Really? Sounds like he's still blaming the marshals to me. And somebody did tell him to stop - she was sat in the passenger seat screaming with terror...."

Which made me titter biggrin
Reading that text there is no possible way that was penned by the same person who has been writing under that name. Not only the syntax but grammar and whole language is that of an educated professional.

The fact that it still lays blame on others makes it pretty clear that he now has legal support stage managing his get out.

What's the best way of creating a mirror? Frankly I don't want the little to be able to run away from his earlier posts.

Not only the limp-wristed, bleeding hearts, dear boy.

That sort of punishment didn't even work when meted out to hundreds of thousands of peasants in the Middle Ages. Not sure why you think it would now? And the power you give to those who you ask to enforce such a regime would corrupt them, too.

I don't think you've thought this through.

Seriously though it was all for the 'lolz' and 'YOLO' attitude and now everyone has rounded on him its a 'please feel sorry for me' now story but i'm still going to blame everyone else for letting me on.......

Deserves everything he gets thrown at him and I hope he is sued for any money people lost and for the charge of being a 'tt' heavily fined.

I think the page has already been culled: I'm sure there was a lot more "zero fks were given" posts earlier on?

Of course it works. - They still have chain gangs in some countries maintaining the roadside verges etc. etc. under armed guard. I've seen them in the US myself. It would certainly save the councils a lot of money here.

Are trained, armed guards, plus transport and whatever other costs for them and prisoners, cheaper than employed litter pickers?

Weird, I've still got it. Minus one "threatening" message but with all the "funny" images.

With every younger generation there seems to be less respect for authority figures and less respect and thought for others.

Seems like a solicitor penned it for him!

Guy is still a chump and because of this we have a safety first society were the most simple of common sense is assumed to be missing so people need to protected. In this case its the marshals fault for not stopping before he got to the pit lane and then he felt obliged to see if they would stop him entering the track, with friend in her/dads car and her screaming stop.

Clivey, dear chap, do remind me just how well the USA is doing on crime? FWIW, I believe there are lessons on crime prevention to be learned from the USA, but not this one.

By the time you are putting scumbags in chain gangs it's too late. Long before Master Cottle did this, his bad behaviour was being tolerated by those around him.

"YOLO" and a winning grin have got him out of trouble before; so it's his default defence. Right now, he's wondering why it isn't working.

Do educated professionals say 'could of', 'would of' and use the word 'effected' instead of affected?

It's the best we can hope for. Having recently met some younger alumni from my old school it is clear that our language has changed quite dramatically in the last twenty years. Besides, these aren't top of their game solicitors, just the people who managed to scrape a rung higher than conveyancers. wink
