So why wasn't the track blocked off?

Surely you would laugh and be amazed if someone drove straight into Heathrow airport? Sure it's dangerous but surely you laugh at the fact they got there in the first place?
I don't know anyone who would laugh if someone intentionally drove onto the runway.

There are questions of course for Brands to answer, but the ultimate responsibility has to reside with the throbbers who thought it would be good "for a larf innit".

Personally I think this is hilarious. The fact that they managed to get on the track does not make them the morons.

There is so much butt hurt going on about this.
There's hilarious stuff, then there stuff that endangers the lives of innocent people around you and needlessly cocks up their day into the bargain.

I can't believe how retarded this is! At least they didn't hit any competitors but it would have been great to see them in the gravel with no way out. I hope Brands are able to prosecute.

I cringe when someone says things like butt hurt, it just screams internet geek.

Sump, you really are a prize one!! Just think before writing, this might help!! If I had driven my car, (built to withstand quite an impact) into the side of this car and sent it flying into one of the pits where pit crew and family were, injuring god knows who, would that be funny???? As buzz would say "You are a sad, strange little man and you have my pity"

So, for obvious reasons this is completely ridiculous and no one in their right mind would think otherwise (*cough* Sump), but that aside, what could they actually be charged with for this?

The nutter who ran on the track during the British GP was charged with aggravated trespass and locked up for a month or 2 IIRC.

We'll see how funny some people think it is when the nice, relaxed Open Paddocks at Club meetings are a thing of the past, because we all know how certain Circuit owners like to use a Sledgehammer to crack nuts...

It certainly borders on the ridiculous that they could do this. But just because they could, didn't mean they should. They put the safety of themselves and others at risk and wasted people's time and money.
to dumb it down to your level Sump. There's nothing to stop you driving the wrong way down the M25 or anything, to stop someone driving into your front room. I'm sure you would find that hilarious as well.

Spot-on, there will be massive repercussions due to this "incident". But as a mate of mine, whose Father used to Marshal Brands in the eighties said, to get into the paddocks, you needed a pass. I hope the sledge hammer will be small, I can see restricted parking around all paddocks. We were the main event that day, with the other drivers using the back paddocks, if they tighten security, its going to make everyone's race day a real pain....

This just seems ridiculous, even if you could (And clearly, you can) why would you do this? I just don't get it.
Driver of this car is a compute and utter prick

However the Transit jumping over the bridge video is quite funny and it appeared they had radios to ensure the coast was clear beforehand!

If it is as dangerous as it's being made out to be, then why was it just so simple for him to get on the track? He clearly made very little effort to do so.....

Lets make it clear, I am not saying what he did was fine, I am asking why was he able to do what he did.

Because to date the assumption that people are not complete morons has been a valid one. Due to this one idiot, everyone will have to put up with unnecessary "security" measures in future.

My views:

1. It was a stupid thing to do.

2. The stewarding is useless.

3. No one was harmed or endangered in the making of that video.

4. They are young, and therefore idiots.

5. If any of my sons did that they'd be in big trouble.

6. I have a sneaking regard for the bks they showed.

7. Some people on here have clearly forgotten what it is to be a giddy kid.

I did stupid stuff when I first passed my test. Very stupid, ttish things, actually. Even then, I wouldn't have considered driving onto a live race track...

I'd mostly agree on the stewarding point, but I think the motorway example mentioned earlier is a good one... At some point, you have to put the blame on the dicks that are stupid enough to do stuff like this and not the fact that they were able to do it.

Also- your third point.. I'd not be so sure about saying people weren't endangered. The fact no one was injured seems to be down to quick reactions from marshals / pit-crews in getting the race stopped. This could have gone very badly...

I do feel sorry for the girl though, she sounds terrified...

If you had to pay the race fees and all the other costs that go into just getting on the grid then you'd see it very differently
Exactly, all these whopping fees and some randomers just waltzed onto the track.
Indeed. I'd be wondering wtf I was paying Brands Hatch for exactly, if they can't keep random cretins off the track whilst I'm in the race I have paid to enter.

I have absolutely no sympathy what so ever for the dumb stupid girl that chooses one of these complete waste of breath excuses of a human being that one day will end up killing her(Or others)

If the scum bag can pull off this kind of stunt what do think he is like driving on the road. Unfortunately as it always is he will walk away and leave dead all around and then to top it off our relaxed excuse of a justice system will sentence the complete idiot to 4yrs out in Two.

As others have asked the question previously "what will happen to him/them if prosecuted" My answer because I have lost all faith in the Justice system is Sweet F All.

ps mx5tom I am not having ago at you here as sometimes reading a post can sometimes come across abrupt or angry and I'm not at you. The story makes me angry, watching and listening to that whole scenario makes me angry, but the girl nope she gets what she deserves for picking that bad boy image that girls seem to like.( Until bad boy goes to far... they don't think about that)
