Lmao, people are attempting to make a big kurfuffle of this. Nothing will come of this.
confused Surely that's what might have been said when the clip first went on YouTube, but seeing as he was arrested, has been to court and now facing jail means that something HAS come of it.

If he'd thrown his hands up and apologised at the time, this would have probably all just gone away. Instead, he blames the marshals, spends hours abusing people online and attempts to launch himself as some sort of online celebrity persona, with the result he is arrested and goes to court. Odd that someone who craved publicity then has a go at the reporters! Idiot.

Prosecutor Keith Yardy told the court: "As a result of his actions, the race was brought to a stop. He was interviewed. He said he was dared to do it and was sorry but would do it again."

She said: "He was dared by friends. This was a foolish prank that should never have gone this far and he deeply regrets his actions."
Have they got that right? He would do it again?! If so, he can't regret it that much.
There are more punchable faces in the world, but not many.

edit: if the interpretation of law here is correct, he could be disqualified from driving. Any actual lawyers feel free to school me, if so it would boil my piss somewhat if the judge had that power and didn't use it.

Didn't see the thread on this before but saw it on facebook at the time.

Not for one minute to I condone his actions, and he deserves everything he gets; but surely the race organizers need to take some responsibility also for not having it cordoned off, or some sort of barrier.

Yes, the judge has the power to disqualify the idiot. No minimum, no maximum period. If I were the judge then I'd ban him for at least 12 months.

Well, if he DOES serve time, he might just get an aggressive cellmate of a certain persuasion. And if that happens, Full Throttle Cottle will be henceforth known as Full Bottom Cottle.

He is a dick, but I am not quite sure I think he deserves to have our taxes spent on putting him in prison?

No racetrack I've ever visited has physical barriers preventing access to the track. Marshals, recovery vehicles, doctors cars etc may need unimpeded access if circumstances arise. Sadly any cretinous and determined individual has a decent chance of finding their way onto a circuit.

Whilst I tend to agree I'd make an exception in this case.

We live in a country where people are put into prison for saying mean things on facebook or looking at too many websites that the government don't agree with - Why on earth shouldn't someone who purposely and without remorse endangered lives be put in prison?
