A fair result IMHO, for the reasons already mentioned.

Excellent outcome. Sends a strong message to any other idiot out there thinking of doing the same thing.

Because all he did was drive a car round a track at a relative low speed?
Tell you what Greg. If you sit in the rear of a Polo doing 10 mph wearing just casual clothes. And we fire a race car (complete with hot engine and full of fuel) into the back of it at 90 mph. You'd be 100% confident you'd see the following day would you?
I think gregf40 must be another of the YOLO brigade. Perhaps he's not too fussed about tomorrow?

Judge Martin Joy said the offence had to be dealt with severely to deter copycats.

“In my judgement the sentence must reflect the need to deter others who might be tempted to act as you did,” he said.

“I am satisfied it is so serious a non-custodial sentence is inappropriate. I consider suspending the sentence would be inappropriate.

“Immediate imprisonment is necessary to reflect the harm caused and culpability.”

“It is clear your actions were premeditated. Your behaviour was deliberate. It was inexcusable.

“When you came off you were laughing, while the lady was having a panic attack. She was taken to a medical centre.

I'm surprised he got a custodial sentance but its a sensible decision IMHO, the evidence was pretty damning, he wasnt dared into it as the Defence suggest and his girlfriend was screaming at him to stop well before the track. Makes you wonder what would have happened if the footage had never been uploaded to youtube....

I don't think the sentence is too harsh, in fact I would punish him more, on the basis of "Don't be a "

Feels about right that, good sentencing from the judge. An utterly stupid and reckless act.

He's not so Full Throttle now, eh.

I think what sunk him was showing zero remorse for any of his actions.

Should shut all his chavvy mates up anyway.

I'd love to see the semi-literate outrage on their FB.

The right outcome for the situation in my opinion. I truly hope it does send a strong message to others stupid enough to consider doing what he did.

A prison sentence isnt anything these days, Playstations and easy access to drugs at the taxpayers expense, locked up with other tools, whats he going to learn there?

I would like him to undertake some form of unpaid work for each of the race teams that were on track that day.

Say full weeks work for each team, This would teach him just how much work goes into this sort of thing, how much inconvenience he caused them, it will also be a form of punishment no one wants to work for nufin' init. The teams also get a form of reimbursement for the trouble.

Unfortunately his "Fan" page has disappeared now.

Oh what a pity.

I'm pretty sure its not the holiday camp you paint it out to be (we're not in Norway!). Regardless being deprived my freedom comes well above any playstation or drug privileges.

I chatted to a guy from an open prison recently. It didn't sound like 'anything' tbh.

Sounds fair. Given his track behaviour and self centred banter post event (IIRC) then I feel immature, but justified in also quoting that sage of our times, Nelson from The Simpsons.

Have brands hatch changed anything post this tt getting on the track?

At the end of the day there's no way anyone not racing should be allowed onto the track.

Do you think if he had shown remorse, and not said he "would do it again", he might have been spared jail?

I think it has been pointed out before that it is hard to 100% secure a track given the need for access vehicles, emergency services, etc, so there are limits?

I think this is a complete waste of tax payers money, and will do nothing but introduce this chap to a load of criminals he might otherwise not have met.

I'd much prefer to see him give something back to the community (as has been suggested, perhaps to some of the race teams affected).
