I remember, years back, the Polo campaign having a lot of success with a supposedly-banned ad agency advert which featured some "arabic" suicide bombers "forgetting" to leave their Polo when blowing themselves up, only for the car to remain perfectly intact: hence, the Polo's strong.

That fairly did the rounds (can't imagine why) and VW denied all allegations that it was a viral. While everyone talked about it.

So, yes, this has the same feel to it. I wonder if it's the same agency?

I don't know, it's quite possible as there's a serious lack of marshaling at Brands and it's fairly easy to sneak a car into the pits and there are normally empty garages at the end of the pits..

Don't believe it though, we would have heard it through somewhere else rather than a youtube vid

I agree, as much as VW have done some terrible adverts, if I were a car manufacturer I wouldn't want my brand associated with these sort of mouth breathers.

As above, seems legit. If it was a viral vid you'd expect the people involved to at least be sympathetic to the brand. Who would want their brand associated with even the suggestion of such reckless behaviour let alone the feckless chavs in the video?

Apparently it's genuine with the race (yesterday) being red flagged 20 minutes before the end - at least that's what I've read in another forum.
