Had to be an Audi.

Entitled idiot. Glad they will be busted for their stupidity.

I hope the sentence handed down reflects the seriousness of what she tried to do. They all too often don't seem to, in this sort of case.

Fair play to the salon owner, who must have been pretty gutted:

It is quite a shock when your shop is mashed up. But buildings can be repaired and lives cannot.
If this happened as alleged then surely this Audi driver's off to prison?

The cyclist kicked the car.

All bets are off.

I wouldn't say that this would warrent an attempt to kill tbh. 5 kids in the car too - if you feared for their safety you'd drive off, not crash into a van & shop.

But he's autistic, so he's entitled to ride er, like a nutter. getmecoat

I think you're wrong though, and that it will make things worse. It needs to be determined how it came into the open domain that the cyclist kicked the car, because if it becomes clear that that was the reason the SUV was driven over a cycle and then smashed into a salon endangering all within - then the driver is in trouble.

She should have used the standard get-out-of-jail card of smidsy or 'sun in my eyes'. By saying she did everything deliberately places her in deep st.

On the topic of road rage and women, I dunno if it's anecdotal but about 75% of zipmerge heros- those who seem more inclined to try to smash their car up than merge in turn- seem to be young women normally in premium cars IME. I find myself wondering how much gallantry perhaps affects how things are reported and who gets blamed...

I'm not sure what's worse. The absolute moronic and dangerous actions of the mother, or the usage " children's' " within the article.

Both offend me.

I have nothing constructive to add other than I knew it would be a Q7 even before I opened the link. They seem to have the highest proportion of arrogant bell-ends as drivers of any car on the road (possibly tied with the X6).

Good comment by the Salon owner:

She said: "She kept saying repeatedly that she was sorry. I just said it didn't matter if there was no loss of life. We are just hoping she is insured. She drives a very fancy car. I think that is what saved her children's' lives."

The only reason the children lives where saved because she drives a fancy car????

For anyone without a fancy car I would stop driving with your kids in it just incase laugh

Justified - self defence.

We've all see the Range Rover incident. SW London is constantly congested hinted at by the the fact that there had already been an argument between the pair where the lady is unlikely to have been able to drive away before this violent cyclist kicked her vehicle. Who is to say he would not have smashed a window showering her children with glass when she would've had to have stop a few yards down the road? How many would take that risk when carrying their children (powerfully built directors excluded).

Perhaps just another petulant, stroppy kidult unable to control their temper behind the wheel when they don't get their own way.

Spoiled children become spoiled, immature adults, hence all the 'rage' attacks these days - just temper tantrums from people who have never been told they can't have their own way.

I blame the parents....

So to avoid the vague risk of the cyclist somehow attacking the car, she purposely tried to kill the cyclist and then drove into a building with her kids in the car? Surely the latter put them at massively greater risk.

She must be a grade a mental and shouldn't be allowed back on he road.

Or am I due a whoosh?

Yes, if you're in an air-conditioned tank and an autistic guy kicks the aforementioned, you're perfectly justified to run over him in an attempt to cause serious harm. It's the only fair way, isn't it?

Tongue in cheek I take it?
