I beg to differ. Generally womens prisons are a cut above mens prisons and are far softer. East Sutton Park in Kent is set in a country mansion for example and does not feel like a prison. I can't even remember if there were locks on the "cell" room doors. The main difference is the atmosphere which lacks the continued threat of violence in mens prisons.

And rug munching? I would say a handful of women in each prison you would look at twice. Most are not lookers - most seem to have topped their husbands in their when they were 40 or 50 and are pushing on geriatric.
