Give it 5 years and I'll pick one up for a couple of grand. Love the concept.
Longer I look at the thing the more I tend to agree. Quite like that they actually seem to have had a look at requirements for a "work horse" and tried coming up with something mainly functional. And what is truly sensational is that the front does without those massive fake air intakes that seem to be the norm currently.

So, it's a Dacia Duster with some gimicky tech inside that no-one really wants, or needs, or will work when the warranty has expired and the kids have mucked about with, then?
Christ it's a touch screen not a a spaceship controller interface. Same one fitted to all the new Citroen and Pug range. Works pretty well.Yes you have to come off the sat nav to go to your music settings or climate control but the system is fast via the shortcut keys and is easy to navigate. If you cant live without your Sat Nav for 3 seconds it's saying a lot.

Citroen seem to have found some of their former mojo, a few years back they were just pedalling Saxos and those egg shape Picassos at huge discounts to the undiscerning, now they have these and the DS thing going which seems to be doing well for them, I know they arent on many Petrolhead Radars but we make a small percentage of the public, Renault will sell you a go faster Megane with titaium exhausts and racing dampers but I bet Citroen will sell shed loads of these.
Its a useful size (Audi Q5 ish ?) but not huge, it isnt trying to be premium, it just goes its own way
and does its own thing and makes a lot of the usual Soft Roaders look a bit gauche and chintzy, we need more innovation like this.

Agreed - I'll almost certaily be looking out for on of these in a few years.
I just hope the new buyers choose it in the funky colours that work so well on it. I fear, however, it will be another case of that oh-so-British disease - speccing a new car for its resale value.
'We've decided on a Cactus, as we loved the pictures of it in brown or yellow or orange, and we want a car that's a bit different from the crowd. So we'll have it in black with black airbumps, please.'
[/quote]
It's an unfortunately rampant disease. But it's not overly helped by some of the largest manufacturers offering washing machine white for free, a range of greys through to black for £500-1000 and then asking for £3-4k+ for any vaguely interesting colours!
Audi springs to mind here. I'm a big car fan and I'm tempted by say a new A6 avant but my god have you seen the colour 'options' for an A6? white, black, slightly less black, grey, dark grey, light grey, silver, silver with a blue hint, blue with a silver hint etc etc and, as is currently the fashion, a custom red (not too racy mind!)
Want anything else? That'll be four grand please!

It's even worse when there isn't even a £3-4k option. I looked at one car from a French manufacturer, and it literally was only available in greys. I said I was interested in a strong red (even a dark blue would do) and was told that they're not available, as it's a 'premium model'. Premium apparently meaning the privilege of no choice. Yet I could have picked up their city car at half the price in practically any colour under the sun.(By the way - it's the '&' in my username that screwed your quote up.)

I like this concept but I was rather hoping to read about 'hammock seats' a la the original Panda, or hose down matting.
Then I also saw the price and blinked twice at it...

As first in early (425cc) 2CVs!
Very comfy, and easy to remove for Picnics.
The interior Cactus pic seems to have an Auto stick? Which would be good.......

The ACTUAL solution to car park dings is to drive a snotter - it's hilarious parking those next to Mr or Mrs DebtRidden in their "newer than the neighbours, bought to make us happier"-mobile
Which, when I come to think about it, is where 90% of these are going to wind-up, isn't it?
That did make me chuckle Which, when I come to think about it, is where 90% of these are going to wind-up, isn't it?
