Voted "Not bothered would rather have the window down" but would go further and say would rather have the roof down too.

I don't drive the car with the roof up unless the heavens open while I am out - which has happened furious and to be honest when that happens my main concern has been about the water pouring off my eyelashes into my lap.frown

Bought one just like this on saturday (pick up next week)

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think they do a convertible version smile

Oh and the air con works on it too!!

So it cost about 7 grand to fix the air con in the end. Worth it though I think. One former keeper, 60k miles, full main dealer history with recent bills for lots of £.... But... The clincher... The 1st owner was an actual freaking Dr.... You can't put a price on that. :-)

Essential. More useful in Winter when it's damp. Keeps the windows mist free.

Voted not fussed.

Only owned 2 cars even with normal AC fitted.

Now I own a convertible I really don't need any AC at all.

If I bought a car with broken AC it would stay broken, probably.

For Fooooks Sake!!!!!!!

So, 2 weeks into the new car ownership and all was lovely and serene. Then a couple of days ago I noticed a funny vibration coming from somewhere in the middle of the dash that came and went with a press if the A/C on/off button.

Just had a mobile engineer out and fuk me sideways if the bastid funking cnunt of a drier isn't leaking from the bottom....furious

It's still blowing cold but it won't last. Fortunately(ish) a new condensor is only £200...getting it replaced later in the week.

have to laugh, you'd cry otherwise.

Did you get it from a dealer? If so won't they cover it under a warranty?

AC is essential to me, I've just spent a grand getting it fixed on my range rover. The mechanic tested it and it will get the interior down to 4 degrees if you put the fans on full.

Yeah from a dealer and came with a 3 month warranty that as far as I can tell is worthless. I might give them a call tomorrow but the car is needed for a holiday next week so it's easier just just suck it up really.

Dunno though, feckin dogst.

Its essential, I even have it in the home now, new place will be getting it fitted too, I can remember when people said it wasn't needed in cars here in the UK.

Mine hasn't worked since I bought my car in 2011. I do long journeys and the heat, especially in traffic jams like M25 ones are a nightmare. Also makes me feeling foooked and tired especially as it a 4hr drive one way.

A tick list for a new car would be cruise control, comfy and working aircon!

With the recent weather I found myself driving a Xsara Picasso with broken A/C - convinced it "just needs a regas, mate" I was tired of sweating my balls off so gave it a go.

£39 later, ice cold, and pretty damn essential IMO

In what seems to be a reverse situation to the apes in Japan, who sit in a hot spring to escape the cold
in the winter, we were doing the reverse by sitting in the car with the air con on at full blast in France last week, to avoid the kin hot day (and night)time temperatures.
The worst I have had with this, was some years ago in the summer which killed a large number of the elderly in France through heat stroke.
The car we had then, had a video player, so we just whiled the night away watching films, before returning to the house in the early hours of the morning when it was `just' cool enough to hit the sack and get some sleep.
I generally don't mind the heat, but `that' year it was f***in ridiculous. We put some bacon on the roof of the car, and it fried like it had just been put in a hot pan! Give me air con or climate control, every time.

Prior to having it, obviously I could live without it.

After having a car with it, I don't think I'd get one without good aircon at least.

Driving around in the current weather being gently buffeted by nice cool air, even when stopped at traffic lights, can't really imagine going back to sweating through the summer months.
