Had a little blast along this today since i live only a few miles away, generally a very good road, another one to add to the collection but I wouldn't say it is the best wink

Ticked this one off the list tonight. Went down and spent an hour chasing and being chased by my mate on his Ninja.

Aside from meeting sheep on the road and a couple of deceivingly tight bends - it was brilliant! Will deffo do again asap. Hardly seen another car on the road the whole time, perfect.

Bump to an old thread.

Took longer than I'd hoped, but finally got around to doing some of this route with my mate on his new (to him) bike. Took the Meggat and Talla reservoirs road rather than going all the way to Moffat, here's the route:

Around 130 miles and a great variety of single track, narrow/twisty and open/flowing routes with little traffic and bright, clear skies.

First time I've given the Mazda a proper run and really enjoyed it.

There are a few problems with this road... It is dominated by log lorries on weekdays whom appear to try and use the road like a race track. Moreover the sheer size of them makes passing the lorries a task at the best of times. Also, You must be very wary of motorcyclists as it is a very popular route.
