Currently an Octavia vRS Estate. It is quick but not fast, looks good (IMHO) and the boot can swallow up all the gubbins you need with 2 kids.

Ideally I would like an M3 estate and can't understand why BMW won't make one, especially as Audi and Mercedes seem to have little trouble in shifting RS4s and C63 estates.

Agree 100%

For once BMW should take a leaf out of Audi's book.
M4 coupe & M3 touring vs RS4 avant & RS5 coupe.

M3 Touring would be my ultimate family car if it were made.

For Family duties isn't he A4/3 series estates simply a little too small? Whereas the 5 series a6 class meets all needs

RS6 for me. With fuel prices looking like they're going to be depressed for a while, the proposition is getting more and more attractive...

I can see the attraction of a Disco but because the daily commute is in excess of 120 miles, the A6 Allroad got the nod.

Its got to have air suspension though...

Are you talking the C5 V8 C6 V10 or C7 V8 RS6? The latest one confortably averages 28mpg which is superb but it's a £200k purchase price

Cheers, that sounds ample then. I'm desperately clinging on to five seater territory. When #3 is born I'll be in the market for a a couple of bricks! wink
Sorry I've not forgotten. I'll amend my offer. I'll try it out when it bloody stops raining !

RR Phantom, quiet, quick, relaxing, plenty of space, loads of entertainment.

No better family car.
