......As such I can park in the parent spaces and relax knowing my car won't get scratched by someone who can't park/push a trolley etc. I
Good luck with that

What time would everyone say it is acceptable to park in the P+C? pass 9pm 10pm? surely there are no kids still going shopping at that time?

Rough looking tart with appalling dress sense, a st car and an even crappier house. Customary media scowl.

What more can you say?
Yes, because the old Astra she blocked in belonged to a secret millionaire.
Good spot. Looks a right nail. Wonder if the owner is as rough.
The forum wouldn't exist without criticism of people and things.

Savile style shell suit would be more likely I suspect.
Tut tut tut, you changed my quote, hand slap on the way.

Don't see the point, height of laziness. There will usually be a few ordinary spaces close by, unless you are "sticking it to the man.... yeah!"

I get fed up with it and would like them moved to the back of the carpark having them next or in front of disable just sends the wrong msg and get lazy inbreds and and flash harrys using them.

However you cant go blocking peoples cars in carparks so for me two wrongs don't make a right. Just take a photo of the car in front of them I did that to one guy who did this and he went nuts!

I experienced something weird the other day p&c a couple pulled up at the same time as me two young boys under 10 and a baby. Both got out the car at the same time and wondered whether they may leave the kids. Came back out and they were all in the car alone the two boys fighting a running amok.

What would you do?

The idea of having them at the front is to reduce the number of toddlers walking through the car park. These spaces help all types of drivers who use shop carparks and make perfect sense.

Can't see any point in putting all drivers at increased risk just because of a small number of angry blokes who want to stick it to kids for some weird reason. Our society already makes far too many allowances for damaged adults.

No point offering privileged parking if it's not more attractive than what you offer the plebs.

Yes I get that but the perception is we are all just lazy. Also even people I know who have had kids unless they have had to contend with a modern car seat can't understand why they are needed.

I once a a wickes store had to back my mpv into the carpark and block the road to put my baby in a infant carrier in because some dingbat had parked so close i couldn't get the door open wide enough to get the infant carrier in.

I got a dirty look of a woman the other day as I parked next to a disabled space so had the additional space on one side !

But doesn't your problem simply highlight why they can be useful!?

Why on earth they would upset anyone at all is honestly beyond me. Everyone wins. People with toddlers get to be a little bit safer and a the shop just a little bit easier and others get reduced risk of door dings or toddlers breaking free in a car park.

They might be just a marketing ploy by the shop but they clearly benefit all shoppers.

How many toddler got killed in car parks prior to the advent of parent and child spaces, and what are the current figures?

I know I know but some people don't like it, they seem to think its special treatment and don't get the non breeders on here going as some are quote anti children and feel its unreasonable for someone to breed and then expect any special treatment.

Have you been to one of the newer drive thru macdonalds were you have two ordering lanes filtering into one. Well I have been waiting for someone to take issue with these but yet to find anyone who couldnt grasp the concept that you filter in turn of when you ordered so little point pushing in front of people as their order would be ready before yours! Until this morning couple of labourer/builder types in a 02 toledo I ordered before them went to filter and then this guy aggressively pushed in front as as I pulled forward.

He was then sent to park up and i got my order straight away (di*ck) he they stirs his coffee and chucks his stirer out the window before he has even left the drive thru lane and then parks in disable bay to eat it not in a rush! Just dick of the highest order.

here we go can of worms opened once again!

Surely its common sense you dont want to be dodging children in a carpark much easier to have them alighting near the entrance?

Peoples resentment of child parking spaces is nothing short of bewildering.
There are thousands of spaces in your average supermarket and the absolute worse case scenario is parking at the furthers point and having to walk as much as 50 metres. I read through threads like this and sometimes get the overwhelmingly depressing notion that 30% of the population are just complete wkers.

>0

AQG shows one or two articles but not many stats - there is an Australian report on car park accidents in Victoria, but nothing I've found for the UK.

That's what they tell you. I think the real reason behind it is financial. Who on average spends more in a supermarket, a Mum with kids doing the weekly shop or one of the angry PHers on this thread nipping in to get some fags and booze? Of course they want to make it easier for families to shop. smile
