Nope, nobody has mentioned anything about semen, and the mess it can cause.
Penis beaker.

Your point 1 is irrelevant to the current discussion, there is always a big drop off area for anyone at lots of places, that's not what we are talking about. I'm talking about dedicated parking spaces for parents and children.

I want to see photographic evidence of point 2.

Having visited Gatwick quite a lot of times including short term and long term and never seen such a thing I'll be interested to see it in print.

I could be wrong of course. Ball in your court.
Not Gatwick or a library but will Heathrow do?

Its a funny old world now.

I find it strange how if there was a thread on world affairs and how people are being bombed you would get to around 2 pages worth of threads but when it comes to a parent child space all hell breakst o page 8 and beyond.

Simple fact is people just get too worked up over idiotic stuff.

I used to park in a parent child space sometimes when I did not have a child and once I got some some verbal abuse saying" can you not see the fking sign" - I said yes I can and walked on my merry way.

I now have a kid and still sometimes do park in them and sometimes I don't. But for the sake of a few extra walking steps people start going nuts.

Some will mention about needing extra space to get prams out: i understand this - but just go to the fking back of the car park and use two spaces - it won't kill us - it will do every one some good to walk a bit extra!!!!!!!!!

It supposed to be a car related forum - arguably the first one shouldn't be here at all.

I find it odd that there is a sub set of humanity that are happy with the fact that they are walking around a shop KNOWING that everyone is calling them a wker (w) and worse behind their backs.

How can people live like that?

No shame, no pride, no morals.

Ocean Finance anyone??? laugh

Indeed. Yet you choose to use the spaces closer to the door when you park in the P&C spots.
Hypocritical much?

Also part of the reason for the proximity to the door is surely so you don't have toddlers wandering all over the car park rather than on the pavement.

Obviously I am a useless parent for even suggesting that my DS or DD wink would escape my care and run in front of a car - but that can clearly happen.
It is far safer to offer kids a direct route to the door with no potential to conflict with traffic, unlike the spots at the back!

I 100% agree that Gaza, Ukraine and Brazil are more important though!

I parked in one recently when I had my mum in the car, does that count? hehe

(It was about 10pm and we were pretty much the only car there - I don't block them at busy times.

Personally couldn't care less about mother and child spaces, I don't use them but I don't see why they should be closer to the entrance of the supermarket than normal spaces unless having kids is a physical disabilty instead of a financial one.

Disabled spaces is a different issue and I do challenge people as had no end of trouble when taking my gran out and about.

The gap in the market is space that have a wider gap between cars, the number of 'wider' people who insist in parking in the narrowest of spaces and then proceed to squeeze themselves in and out bashing their door on the next car, its like watching a game of pinball. After all that they deny being responsible for any damage caused.

I got called an inconsiderate tw@t yesterday for parking in what seemingly was the last parent and child space at a supermarket by some bloke in a people carrier who admittedly did have kids with him.

I do have a little boy but he wasn't with me I did however have the child seat in the car which kind of gives me a bit of a ticket to park there. wink

I do use them if I see one as they're not really a right for people with children, bit harsh being called a tw@t though!
Not harsh at all, he was spot on.

Car parks are dangerous areas when you are trying to herd small children around. Being closer to the store minimises the exposure to danger.

I don't see the problem anyway, what is the issue with having to walk say 100 yards instead of 10 if you are able bodied?

We are living more and more in a F**K Y*U selfish country.

I see more and more that the populous expect:

1/ Other people to pick up their crap.
2/ Teachers to effectively be responsible for the upbringing of children
3/ Me benefits are a right. Why should I work?
etc etc

No I don't bother with spaces, parking in the pick up point is a lot easier and closer to the door.

Yes I do. I don't mind if other non-parents use it.

I'm bit of a selfish but I don't really care. I get to do what I want. In my world I look out for me.

P.S. The only way parking the Capri like that can be acceptable is if it was done using the handbrake.
Or if that is where it happened to break down

It's annoying if you do have a sprog with you but not worthy of throwing insults around I think.

It can be very tricky to get a 2 year old out of the car in a normal space, particularly if there isn't much choice and your only option is where two people who are clearly blind have parked. Which happens with alarming regularity.

Annoyingly, the drivers side door of my girlfriends car has more dents on than the other side for this reason as you try and leave enough space on the other side to get the sprog out so the cum stain who has parked at 45° in the space next door sees those two doors as fair game.

Actually, that's a point. People who don't park in bays properly is more annoying and more worthy of insult. It's not fking hard is it to at least make a bit of an effort to park straight and somewhere near the centre of the space!
