Why do women always slam/fling open car doors/boots?
Discussion
*Warning potential sexist post*
Perhaps it's just the company I keep, however all female members of my family and every girlfriend I've ever had (including the current one) have a tendency to slam car doors and boots. In addition they'll be flung open at full pelt. Such actions always bring on a grimace in one's face as the car shudders from such heavy handedness.
This post was prompted by the gf's actions yesterday. Such was the force by which she flung the boot open of the E36 touring, that she's broken the right sided gas strut. Admittedly it was rusty (and probably a bit delicate) but I've managed to open that boot countless times over the last two years I've owned the car; she does it once and breaks it!
Why?
Lack of mechanical sympathy? Women don't know their own strength? (They do this on their own cars too!)
Am I alone in experiencing this phenomenon?

A good friend of mine (girl) slammed my car door very very hard three times in a row. The first two times I pointed it out and made a joke of it but the third time! "Don't slam my car door again that's three times now" and an argument ensued
She did it for a fourth time within a week and there was swearing. Its not difficult! Just don't slam the fking door you mongie.
I don't have enough examples for door slamming to know if its a one off or its a female phenomenon

My Girlfriend does it regularly and it does my head in! She also has a habit of scraping her bag along the passenger door when getting in/out, been a fair few arguments because of it
As mentioned already, some women have very little in the way of Mechanical Sympathy especially when it comes to Cars.
Cue the abuse from female members of the board...

It is not just your Mrs.!
I have asked on soooo many times/occasions to just shut the doors without havign to test the tensile strength of any metal within 300 yds. And I am apparently being 'tetchy' when I bring it up!
Last time I mentioned it, i asked what her response would be if she asked me politely to do something around 2,341 times and I still wouldn't listen; she replied - "it wouldn't get above 3!"
I then asked her to clarify whether it was reasonable for me to politely ask her again about the doors and her reply was; "well that's different and I shouldn't be so precious!"
Another lovely response once was - "XYZ on a bloody car and the doors will apparently fall off?" - i gave up for a while.
And she slams the front seat back into place when it is tilted forwards to get to the back seats - this morning, I went to gently place the seat back as she reached for it and FFS, she tried to force it back with force as I was gently placing it back into position
No helping them; but God help me if I miss a bit when she asks me to run the hoover around

as well as the door/booth thing we have a gravel drive that is perfectly flat that the skinny tyres on her car sink into; you could not push the car if it were in neutral yet she insists on giving the handbrake the mightiest of heaves when she parks it. also she hits the indicator stick with such force i am amazed it hasn't snapped off.
