Why do women always slam/fling open car doors/boots?
Discussion
Agree with everything said so far lol!
My biggest gripe is when they (females) slam the front passenger seat back into place when getting in and out of the back seats. My daughters do it, the wife does it, mother does it FFS! I'm now ready for it and put the left hand out to cushion the slamming effect.

A friends' GF did that to my seat and it's rattled every since. I curse her every time I go over a rough surface. My biggest gripe is when they (females) slam the front passenger seat back into place when getting in and out of the back seats. An old work mate of mine recounted the time she broke down in her car and was rescued by a chap she had admired for a while. She took a lift home in his beautifully kept MG MGB GT and as she stepped out she said 'You're a ste in nining armour' became flustered and slammed the door shut. The window promptly shattered.
Took her ages to get over the cringe

Sadly not just women, my father-in-law seems to think that unless he has attempted to create a sonic boom the door isn't closed. I have suggested the door will close quite softly but it makes no difference. He is quite old and used to close his car doors with equal force so not just having a go at me. I just resign myself and try to make sure nothing else is open when he closes his door or there isn't any 'cushion' of air in the car.
I have an issue with her opening doors, always flung open as if nothing could ever be outside the car. Unfortunately, living on an island rather prone to strong winds we've come close to losing a door, or at least having it fold back against the wing a couple of times.
Also suffer the same issue with the handbrake as a previous poster, god knows how many times I've reminded her she doesn't need to stretch the cable to put the handbrake on.
Mind you, I've also learnt not to say too many things about women's driving. Was in a (female) friends car a while ago, along with the other half, and somehow she managed to get overtaken on the left and promptly got rather cross at the cheek of this chap. I don't think my comment of "If he could get past you on the left, you shouldn't have been in the right hand lane" went down well at all. It was rather quiet in the car for the rest of the journey...

My mates girlfriend let his door go in the wind. The force of it snapped the metal piece that stops the door going too far and pulled the door so far it bent part of it outwards where it hit the hinges. Somehow he didn't even shout at her but I'd have gone mental if that happened to me!
My wife managed to wreck an eighteen month old dishwasher last night.
The door's been out of kilter for a while - it needed a bit of effort to open it properly/close it flush. Was planning to get someone out to have a look.
Anyway, no need now. My wife yanked it open forcibly last night. Bent both hinges to buggery, one now hanging loose and half-wrenched the font panel off (half the screws pulled clean through the chipboard).
The dishwasher alone is £500 never mind the replacement front panel.
FFS....

Because they don't have to fix anything they break.
This.Guess who always slams the passenger door on my car, despite endless pleading not to?
I'll give you a clue - it isn't me.
Guess who is fixing the wonky frameless window glass on my (PASSENGER SIDE) car door next weekend?
I'll give you a clue - it isn't my OH.

Beware of people who own range rovers or discoveries as they are likely to slam the door.
My boss owns a discovery and is forever slamming my passenger door but since I've bought a range rover I can see why. They are so well sealed that when they close it creates a cushion of air which will stop the door closing properly unless you put some force into it. After a while I suppose you just get used to giving the door a good swing.

Most people (doesn't matter if male or female) don't consider doing stuff with the minimum force needed.
Hence my need to replace tap washers every ten minutes because other people who use the bathroom (who happen to be female) insist on "turning the tap off" by going way beyond the force needed to stem the flow of water and to the point where they have applied th maximum force they can muster.
I comfort myself that most car manufacturers are able to cope with the ham-fisted and design stuff accordingly these days.

Ex OH used to take the piss out of me as I regularly failed to shut her Disco 3 door properly as I don't tend to slam them My boss owns a discovery and is forever slamming my passenger door but since I've bought a range rover I can see why.
