/DRIVE is back 31st July!
Discussion
Meh. Unsubscribed.
Not paying to see the quite awful Leo whatshisface on screen, 45 mins of drivel/after drive, or Tuned (where Farrah has the better content on Smoking Tire).
Roadkill, Evo, XCar, Petrolicious, Car Throttle and Motor Trend it is then. Not exactly a bad selection.
Really struggling to see the logic in what Drive are doing. So many people have failed at this sort of thing.

Doesn't this echo Driver's Republic, subscription was free for a while then it was priced and it went down the pan?
I will most likely pay as i love drive, but i can see it putting the vast majority off.
Yup. I will most likely pay as i love drive, but i can see it putting the vast majority off.
This is poor value even compared to my Top Gear subscription.

Peoples cheap ass responses.
Hilarious....
I'm in anyway.
It's poor value, the content on offer is enough for what they are asking and I would rather just sit through an ad or two rather than paying a fixed price for something that I'll only watch one 15min thing a week on. It's going to bomb.Hilarious....
I'm in anyway.
IMO a lot of the people commenting on this topic are missing the point.
/Drive+ is creating a product. They want me to pay for it. Surely the questions are:
1. Do I want the product?
2. Am I happy to pay the price for the product?
3. Can I afford to pay the price for the product?
At the moment my answers are yes to all 3, so I've subscribed.
Do I question the money that Apple are making when I buy a their hardware or apps? No. Do I consider the circumstances of the Starbucks executive board when I pony up for a coffee? Again, no. So does it make a difference if Harris, Musto, Farrah, Spinelli et al were penniless struggling artistes or hard working guys making a living out of a new media stream? Not to me. Well, actually, I'm lying - I think that success breeds more success, so I'm more comfortable with the latter.
If they *do* make a success of this (and I hope they do) then the content will continue to come. It may even get better. It may get worse. They may put the price up. Or not. But every month I'll just ask the same 3 questions and if it's not 3 yes's then I'll stop subscribing.
Drive+ want £2.49/month to access their content. Take a minute and think what that amount will buy you today. Or not, which is perhaps more relevant.
So that's my two penneth. Or possibly my £2.49'nth. To the people that disagree with me, no problem. Opinions are like aholes - we all have one.
To the /Drive+ team, good luck. And stay classy!

Person on PH starts a thread (this one). Result: Worst thing ever.
Harris posts a blog about it: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... Result: Best thing ever, people who don't sign up are tightwads

You've failed to realise that a)This ain't the BBC
b)You can't continue to watch it with ads as that is barley allowing them to break even, So you're argument is sadly based in 2013. Yes we'd all like for it to be free. Doesn't mean it's realistic.

We'll see when they find themselves struggling even more because of a flawed subscription model. Someone else had it nailed, a few p for a view, or alternatively have a 'pay what you want' model instead.a)This ain't the BBC

I'll wait for it to appear on Quest at some point. If Chris is reading can we have your content only on a DVD for Christmas like the old Clarkson vids.I would gladly pay for that.
I must admit that I would pay for a festive DVD as I've mentioned before. It's so cheap to do that I'm sure it will happen as it's such an obvious way to monetise the data.

You are aware there are still free videos correct?Edited by Janesy B on Wednesday 30th July 18:00
Are you also aware that they are tied to what youtube can provided and they don't over pay per view?
