Sorry to be a spotter but the V8S only has 488bhp not 500+

Only the Coupe gets the full fat engine.

Don't get me wrong. Been out in one, it's not found wanting for anymore power.
Hmmm...it seems odd not to offer a convertible 'R'. - I'm surprised it's not superseded the V8S.

I wonder if it is possible to get the V8S engine upgraded to full fat

I would imagine so, as the Coupe R and Project 7 outputs are down to mapping? Unofficially, i believe some ex Jaguar cars have a few more hp over standard (might be worth a rolling road session?)

So... it's lost £2.6 a mile in depreciation. That is _very_ painful. I can see why they're rare.

edit: Put another way, and assuming it was sold about this time last year, it's lost £45 a DAY which is even scarier.
Those numbers are meaningless if not compared to the competition?

I'd love an F-type, but I'm just not there yet smile.

Most supercharged cars can be upgraded cheaply simply by changing one or both of the supercharger pulleys.
Many companies offer this for XJR, XXR S Type R already, so I would be surprised if it is not/does not become available for the F Type.
