Evening all! I'd like a few ideas of what car to get next, purchase is pretty imminent!

Criteria as follows:
Decent to insure (22, 2years ncb, 6points... To give you an idea I currently pay around £830 a year tpft on a 2001 1.2 Clio.)
Decent to fuel. Around 40mpg would be nice.
The sort of thing a 22 year old single gent would be happily seen in.
£8k absolute maximum.
Less than 6 years old is a major positive.
Less than 60k on the clock.

So far I have taken a fancy to:

Volvo c30's ( 8k gets a decent example and is about 950 a year to insure fully comp, but this is for a 1.6d, are they painfully slow?)
Renault laguna coupes ( really like the look of these, but are about 1300 to insure, which is more than I'd like.)

I know it's not very exciting, but 6points governs me a bit, I cover about 12000miles a year. Believe me, I'd genuinely love an e39 530 sport,/330ci etc but that's not feasible right now, oh, and hot hatches and mx5's arn't my thing!

Thanks in advance team! smile

You may not get many replies as the points and your age limit you to (dare I say it) boring cars. And this is Pistonheads! Speed matters etc etc. Any of the above will be fine. Dull but fine. You do the crime...

With 6 points I would suggest something positively lethargic.

You will hate it; but in 4 years time with a clean licence you might thank me.
