Hey all,

My brother-in-law was asking me about these things from tdi-tuning.co.uk. Effectively a little box that you plug in between the ECU and the injectors, claiming to increase power and economy in certain gears by 'fooling' the ECU. Reading about some previous posts on here, there seems to be a 75/25 split of them being crap/good. I suspected they'd be bks, and suggested he get a stage 1 remap for his motor instead, as it seems, from basic investigations, will only be a little more expensive to do and be a far better for the engine in general.

So - can anyone recommend a tuner who would be able to remap a Vauxhall Insignia 2.0 CDTI in the Nantwich/Manchester area?

Cheers

Is this in the wrong forum or is there genuinely no recommendations for that car?

To be honest, if your topic title was "Vauxhall tuning in Manchester" or had posted in either the Vauxhall or relevant regional forum, you may have had some luck.

A box isn't as efficient as a proper remap but they don't touch the ECU so they can preserve your warranty. It's also a piece of cake to take the map off come sale time, and you can sell the box on to get some of the money back.

Google more-bhp in crewe. Recent experience of a friend was good, albeit not with a vauxhall.

Do you think the PH mods will mind if I cross post/request a move/change of title?

Had a Celtic Tuning map on my Focus TDCI - was quite aggressive, but fun and improved the responsiveness of the car on part-throttle (well, part-accelerator).

They are generic remaps, they have agents round the country.

Latest remap to my Seat Leon 1.9 TDI was a rolling-road job at RTech (Leics, so no use to you), but just replicates the shape of the standard power/torque curves which makes the drive less exciting, despite producing significantly more power/torque than the Focus did...
