I'm trying to get a new Volvo XC60, but a new car on order won't be with me till Oct/Nov, and I'd like it now'ish.
My local dealer has had a couple come up as unwanted orders, but not in the spec' I'd like.
Question: Is there any way of viewing on the web the UK stock for these cars, without me having to contact every dealer in the country to find out on the off-chance that they might have a suitable car?

The Dealer can do that, doubt there is a way you can.

yes I can never be bothered waiting.

Plus the residuals for most factory spec'd new - lets face it are horrible no matter how long you plan on keeping the car - cancelled orders are only a bit better.

I would head to the Volvo forum either here or else where and post the spec you are after, a couple of people there work in sales and can prob look it up - I'm pretty sure you cannot.

Exdemo is my normal route as the mileage is normally very low, the spec is usually high and a lot of the initial depreciation is over.

Not sure where you are and the spec you want but for example this is exdemo:

Doesn't Volvo have an "approved used car search" on their website?

I think he is after a factory stock list for new cars either on order for customers or cancelled by customers and due for delivery to the showroom.

This wouldn't appear in a "used search" an exdemo might (which IMO is a much better bet financially) even with exdemo legwork usually prevails as you can catch cars before they go up for general sale, which I guess is what the OP is trying to do but with a new factory car.

Speak to Shaun or Laura at Cecil & Larter Volvo, we buy all ours from them. 01284 778898. If they can't find it, it's not out there. (For the record we have a couple of XC60's on order - 4 month build to customer spec.)

Your local dealer would be able to see them, but they might not be able to get them, and in that case - they are hardly going to point you in the direction of their competitor are they?

A 3 month wait for a car to your spec is not that long is it? You'll wait that long for a DFS sofa!!!

Ah well, it's all on hold now anyway as the Banks computer says 'No' to new car and house extension, Muppets! And at the moment house extension need to prevail.

Ah shame, just been offered a car from stock! XC60 D5 R-Design with Nav, AWD, Geartronic. A rare beast indeed.
