Hey,

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of fitting a DAB aerial and stereo?

I've got a Pioneer DEH-X6600DAB and a Kinetic DRA-6004 aerial.

My question is that the aerial needs to be wired to a 12v power input. I was planning to attach it via a cable and inline fuse to the switched live supply (RED). However on the back of the unit there is a blue and white wire labeled "System Remote Control" does anyone know what this is for?

The instruction manual for the unit kind of contradicts it's self.

Thanks smile

I didn't read the manual (Lazy fker) but usually the remote signal is for a sub amp so the amp switches on and off with the Head unit. I would wire it into the accessory circuit so your aerial is live all the time the radio could be.

Also is this an active aerial? Would a normal passive one not work since you need a new one every time your windscreen needs replacement.

If it's the active windscreen dab antenna that dab on wheels sell then I spilt the 12v switched from my wiring harness behind the radio and used that for the antenna. I used the switched live to stop the battery running flat.

For what it's worth the active windscreen antenna is easily as good as the normal antenna I've fitted on the roof of the van and far better than the old passive antennas I used to get.

It's a fitted roof aerial, wasn't keen on the windscreen version.

Did you add an in line fuse?

Yeah I fitted a 3 amp fuse. I guess it should be protected by the main fuse for the radio but I felt better fitting it...
