Mrs AngryDog is wanting a Twingo 133. The main issue is that she wants the 12 reg face lift as her 12 reg 1.2 Twingo is the same and she likes the look. The problem is that there aren't many around.

She may consider a Gordini, but for a 200 run car, there seems to be quite a lot for sale.

Has anyone owned one of these? Is it better to get a Gordini over a normal 133?

Just get a normal one. The Gordini looks worse to these eyes...

ooo I like that smile

afaik (and this is all kinda guess work) the Gordini is just some bits of leather, chavy white trim and badges, but there is a "cup chassis" i.e. lowered suspension which I believe could go on Gordis or regular 133s. May also be a "lightened" Cup version. Renault like to confuse things with their "Cup" designations.

Am I right in thinking all 133s are 1.6 and are only being replaced with the 1.2T this year?

All 133's are the 1.6 VVT.

The 1.2Tce engine came in the GT model, no longer available and won't be carried to the new Twingo.

New Twingo will have a 900cc Tce engine.

Gordini trim is a bit marmite. Malta blue paintwork is nice, the white striped with ghosted logos looks smart too, if you gave me the choice of a Gordini or a normal 133, I'd take the Gordini.

What you really want is a Liquid Yellow facelift. Ace.

Yeah the 133's are 1.6's. They're based on a Clio engine with some tuning.

She did see a Silverstone edition, but it looks very poverty spec inside, hence the Gordini question.

I guess she may just either have to wait for a 12 reg one, or get something else.

She isnt keen on the new one coming out sadly.

I miss my Cup. Definitely get Cup suspension.

Silverstone was a standard 133 with Mercury Silver bodywork, black roof (and wheels IIRC) and a Stainless backbox. So a little bit nicer than the standard one.

Doh, was confused by the "Gordini" 100hp 1.2s.

Ah yeah, I had forgotten about that one. Don't think we sold any of those!

We did sell a Gordini Wind though IIRC. What a cracker!

133 probably isn't enough to even be interesting considering what the Wind weighs, around 1200 isn't it?
Would have been better with an F4R.. I wonder if anyone's ever done that?

Well she picks up her 13 reg 133 tomorrow, sans the Cup suspension, but she hardly thrashes her cars or drives them quick, so Cup suspension wasnt needed.

I'll get to drive it when I get home next week, if I can fit in it! The seats dont seem to go very far back (at least they dont in her 12 reg 1.2)?

Regarding the seats, with no cup spec, she'll have the rear seats that can slide forwards and backwards, giving enough legroom for an adult, or indeed enough boot space to fit Ross Kemp!

It is a cracking car, hope you enjoy it

Cheers, I'm sure we both will! So if the rear seats go backwards, will that let the front seats go further backwards? Her 1.2 has the same seats, and I could never get the drivers (or passenger) seat to go far enough back to allow me to drive it comfortably, so I only ever drove it very rarely (I think I've driven it twice). My knees feel like they're around my ears and I am only 5 ft 10 hehe
