If I was in the market for one (and needed it to go off road, not off to the shops) I'd be looking at something from JLR I think.
But it's good to see Porsche keeping up with trends by updating the styling twekas, although I don't seem to remember that the old twekas needed updating did they? Perhaps the Stuttgart Tweka Fabrik Werks thought it would help it sell just a few more....

Oh, FFS. The Cayenne was one of the few SUVs that could go off road without embarrassing itself. That's the whole appeal to some (though admittedly few) people, myself included.

Looking at the pictures I’m not sure if I like the facelift better than the pre-facelift.
The old rear looked somewhat ugly but now it looks like an Audi which in my opinion is even worse for this car.
No idea why they didn’t adapt the Macan / Panamera Sport Turismo look.
In my case, the Macan's taillights are what make it stand out from the Cayenne. If they added them on this facelift they'd end up with the BMW X4/X6 problem.The old rear looked somewhat ugly but now it looks like an Audi which in my opinion is even worse for this car.

And yes I had one for a few years to play with off road and tow the horse box / go shooting in as an alternative to a FFRR

Last of those a bit of a stereotype - yes, the X5 lacks the diff locks & low range but, with proper 18" wheels and tyres, it does remarkably well off-road. We live a mile off road ourselves and also use ours to leg it up a friend's moor in the Yorkshire Dales - never had the slightest problem, summer or winter, rain or shine.E65Ross said:
In fairness to Porsche, as you say that appealed to very few. And of those few it appealed to (yourself included), how many bought one? Did you buy one instead of a rival because of those features?
I'm only 25 so I wasn't old enough to drive when the Cayenne was first launched but I did buy my Discovery because it has that off-road ability (by my choice, you can tell it was evidently more important to me than speed, on-road handling etc.)

Why waste 6 paragraphs of text to what are trivial changes to an SUV that even the title has to put in 'finger quotes' to say "this is silly"? Is it really impossible for Porsche to publish 5 press release photos without every auto site deciding an article MUST be published so there's justification for getting those pictures spread?
