Still prefer a '90's Continental or an Arnage.

Indeed!

As already said, Bentleys these days are not great cars, unless you're one of the orange people. The styling is getting very old-hat, but maybe that's a result of being in a group that doesn't really push styling anymore. The SUV styling was an absolute joke when I worked there. But hey-ho, they have an audience, albeit a naive one.

Matt, do you think a more powerful version of the V8 with a chunk more fire and brimstone would be a better fit (from an enthusiasts' point of view) for the ultimate Conti GT - something similar in character to the old Arnage T maybe?

i know you have to have one but the sat-nav screen ruins the cabins looks.

Bit hard to say having driven only the W12 Conti GTs! It will be interesting to see what the GT3-R is like for sure, everyone I've spoken to has experience of both Conti engines has preferred the V8. As for anything similar to the old Arnage, I think they're probably entirely unique as a motoring experience! The Mulsanne is the probably the direct replacement.

IMO, most of the interior ruins the cabin. I wasn't impressed with my short trip in one.

I think this is the first review where the journalist actually was brave enough to state that these are also quick around corners.

Fair enough. I've not been in or driven one but seemingly every review I've read gives the impression that the W12, whilst impressive, just doesn't get under your skin. Everyone seems to love the Arnage, Brooklands etc. though.

I have driven both the W12 and the V8S on a long road trip to Le Mans a couple of weeks ago. Despite the fact that the W12 is more powerful and has more torque it feels more lazy than the higher revving V8S engine. Also the sound of the W12 is more subdued than the V8S which has a quite aggressive tone when pushed. Some people will always go for the W12 but my personal opinion is that the V8 engine is by far the more entertaining one. It also happens to be cheaper and uses less fuel so the choice should be simple unless one is looking for the bragging rights.
