Or the sort of person who has not been given any alternative by the successive governments. What investment has the nation made in the last 25 years? Nuclear (the cleanest reliable source of power)? Oh no, they've let that fall by the wayside.

Sometimes I cycle to work, sometimes I run, sometimes I get the train. I'm fortunate there are those options for me. If I get a new contract it might be at a site where there is no local train station and too far to cycle. What should I do? I need to support my family, so I need to work. I'll put my family's immediate needs first.

If you want a genuine environmental cause forget the narrow focus on CO2 and focus wide on waste of resources, be that power, water, time, refuse. That's how to make the biggest impact on the future of life on this planet. Stop wasting resources.
