Looking for a new family car, these seem interesting as need something that's equally at home pottering through traffic on the nursery run as it is going down the motorways to see the parents/inlaws.

At my (£10k) budget they're getting to the 80-110k miles mark which doesn't worry me unduly - my local taxi firms run 150k Priuses which I assume is a similar technology and it is a Lexus after all.

Anyone have any 'real life' experience running one of these as a family car? I have a motorbike for fun so I'm looking for something comfy and versatile (currently have an S8 which isn't practical enough being a saloon). I'm not expecting it to be an involving drive but franky as I live in the congested South East I tend to find opportunities to drive with enthusiasm very limited. Ticks a lot of boxes on paper:

Comfy
Reasonably economical (well, anything would be compared to the S8)
All the toys
Folding/split seats for chucking bikes/prams/DIY stuff in the boot
Comfy place to sit
Reputation for reliability
Not much of an image associated with it
Quick enough (7.6ish to 60?)
Mrs Scruff likes it!

Have a test drive booked later today to see if theory and reality match but interested in any thoughts?
