What petrol family car? 13k budget

Yes, mine is petrol. 2010 so the facelift one with the curvey lights.
Done 60k in 4 and a bit years mpg in the mid to high 30's
No problems to report.

Octavia VRS is a great all rounder. Great performance without costing a fortune to run. The only slight worry is the reports of cam chain failure and subsequent ruined engines on the facelift ones, though it may not be that many with all affected owners taking to the internet!

The main problem is used choice. Hardly anyone buys petrol family cars now. There are a few Mondeos about - probably a good choice but could lose money quite quickly. Petrol Seat Exeos are very rare indeed, but good value.

Mercedes C250 estate another good option, albeit again rare and maybe more expensive.
