Typical Mustang owners no talent assholes.
No talent assholes seem to be able to bin with remarkable ease... Ferrari's, Aston's, Lambos etc etc etc.

A high power RWD car an inappropriately applied lead foot generally leads to bad things happening.

Are we all forgetting about the role of the automatic gearbox? Try drifting any car with a third party doing gear selection for you... Going to be a bit tricky, surely?

You joke but I was once caught in the traffic leaving the Trax show at Silverstone and the were two guys who really were snaking all over 3 lanes of the motorway before disappearing whilst a couple more of their mates held the traffic back at 30-40mph.

I've only done this in my '98 E36 323 which only puts out 170 odd horses.

I'm assuming the greater power and not steering exactly straight when one or both of the wheels suddenly find momentary grip puts the vehicle in a car version of a motorcycle high side, and it just gets out of control unless you are a driving God.

I have a 350Z and little/no talent but can fling it sideways and it doesnt seem to bite back the other way like that, am sure it could but all three Mustand in the OP's clip did broadly the same thing.
You don't be trying hard enough.
I had a 370Z and a similar amount of no talent and when the back end did step out on occasion (I never really tried to push it) it was quite sedate and came back in line with seemingly no intervention from me (well, mostly).
Have either of you tried it with the stability contro turned off ? wink
Once. Just once.

V8s with slushboxes are not the best option for getting one`s tail out. I learnt my lesson after I tried to show off in a Chevy Caprice and ended up with mud and grass stuck to the underside, much more cautious now

Also reminds me of the video of the guy in the corvette thinking he is doing a burnout, smoke coming from the engine makes him think he is doing it right before the inevitable bang as the engine lets gohehe

Only if your car is gutless, or your doing it wrong.

Mustang leaving a car meet. It's standard for at least one of them to over correct / lift off at the wrong time and launch it the other way into something.

I think it's so much more common in mustangs simply because a lot more of them are sold, so odds are higher you'll get a chump behind the wheel.

Alternatively, you'll get someone who doesn't normally do it, but feels pressured into chucking one, only to get scared half way, lift out of it, and thus launch it the other way.

Chevy drivers are mostly alright though hehe

That video was from Mustang Week in Myrtle Beach.

I went to one a few years back and there are 100's of not 1000's of Mustangs there for the event and of course, a fair few will be talentless idiots.

The normal cause of this, as someone pointed out, is when you transition from wheels spinning that have zero grip to not spinning when you lift off and then suddenly have grip.
You then take off in whichever direction the front wheels are facing.
The trick is (if you can call it that) to be facing straight when you lift off or lift off slowly.

Autobox or suspension type doesn't really effect it.
