The sunroof: this year's must-have new car option?

Used to own a Renault Grand Espace with very trick panoramic sunroof. So many options of opening and definitely made the interior feel brighter. Can't say I've noticed any leaks but during cold winters the glass freezes and makes a very disturbing noise.
I don't mind a proper sunroof in our family car - had a 14 plate S Line Q7 as courtesy car with a very nice panoramic sunroof and we loved it.

I've had sunroofs in all my cars and I love them.
My current car has a pano sunroof and climate control. The pano roof being a rare option on them (clio 197)
It really does alter the way the car feels inside. Mine feels so much more open.
Worst bit about it is cleaning the wind breaker (aka bug catcher) at the front. It's pretty grim in the summer.

Am I the only person who remembers people gluing their sunroof all over the place to stop the things leaking? I have memories of a lot of old bangers with white/yellow smeary marks around the edges of a sunroof they now clearly hated.
Give me a/c any day please. And cooled seats would be a big advance.

On mine it was the forward most passenger side clip that had broken.
I usually lube the rails lightly with white lithium grease
There's videos on YouTube ( such as http://youtu.be/TATFSv8CIsI ) but you might have to search to find one applicable for your issue(s). I don't like anything NOT to work on a car so enjoy doing the little jobs ....depends on the individual though

Sunshine roof! I haven't heard them called that for years! I quite like it, I may start calling them that myself.My Jag has a sunshine roof. There just isn't enough headroom for it so I would prefer it not to have one. With modern cars being so tall I guess the problem is much less marked. I do open it from time to time. The car also has climate control which is very effective, but opening the roof is excellent for letting hot air escape when the car has been parked in the sun. It's also a pleasant thing to pootle about with the roof open.
I sort of avoid cars with a sun roof. I've heard plenty of stories of them leaking, wreaking the interior and if its left to long, rusting the floor pan. My aunt actually done this to her old clio ii, she wouldn't spend the money to fix the sunroof on the clio. But then went out the got herself a brand new aygo. 
I have a metal sunroof and climate, with the roof open and the windows down, it's as good as a full cabrio, and I have all the other options depending upon the weather and my mood at the time. I too like the aircon on and the roof open when really hot and sunny. I love the light the comes in, and also the exhaust sounds. I tend to have it on tilt every drive,I guess I'm a fresh air nut. I searched round specifically for a car with a sunroof and climate.
My wife had an E70 X5 and it had a panoramic roof, lovely and all the way from the front to the rear and quite possibly the moon and back.
It broke.
Lots.
It even broke when the dealer tried to fix it.
They dropped it once they got it out of the car to fix it.
Smashed, broken.
Never used it because it was always either broken or about to break.
I've got a sunroof in my M5 (standard fitment).
I'm a bit thin on top and the sun burns my head and it hurts.
It's also not pleasant open at speed.
I've used it twice I think, but..........
It isn't broken as far as I know.
I'm not a massive fan to be honest.
