Yeah you have basically just proved his point exactly, horsepower isn't everything.
Perhaps it's the fact that people expected more in 2014, than a sub par rehash of cool 90's jap coupes

The Nissan 200SX was offering this sort of performance 20 years ago.

Hyundai made there coupe really cheap so it stood out, you even got a v6 option

The 350z had great styling and a lusty v6

The GT86 looks great, but does not have anything to actually get that excited about, it's all been done before with a lot more jazz or for a lot less money.

Your right HP isn't everything, but neither is it nothing

The negative comments about the BRZ's engine have more to do with the lack of decent touque and the anodyne sound.

Power figures are not everything, but is always nice to have a responsive, good sounding engine.

I sold my mk1 MX-5 after 4 months because it had an icredibly boring engine. I couldn't stand it.

That's one of the reasons I'm sticking with BMWs for now (either an E46 330Ci, 130i LE or Z4 3.0Si next) - at least I can get a nice straight six. thumbup

Apparently, Fensport's upgrades gives the car more character and performance. - Buy a lightly used GT86, fit their upgrades and you could have a little rocket for under £30k. Of course, the base car was always intended as a blank canvas. wink
