This is what happens when you have bad leadership, lack of sponsors etc

Belfast Motor Show this weekend was like something out of Father Ted

About 10 cars on show and stalls featuring all car related things such as tanning booths, eyebrow threading etc

Some of the Facebook comments are quite amusing

https://www.facebook.com/BelfastMotorShow

They had a Noble M600 and well that was about it.

Seems Noble were led up the garden path and were expecting to be like Ulster motor shows from the 80's and 90's

No other brands took part and they were charging £50 for people to show classics hence why nobody turned up.

To say there isn't is nonsense considering over 10k people bought tickets.

They actually have a motorcycle festival at the same venue every year and it is sponsored by every manufacturer in the business and get about 50k attending.

heres what was advertised and what people expected

I remember seeing this discussed a few times on Facebook - mostly with people saying it'd never live up to expectations. Although this is just on a completely different level! rofl

Strewth that's embarrassing. We were going to go until we heard that neither the Agnew Group nor Hursts were supporting it, which rules out just about every manufacturer. Bouncy castle looks fun though.

Compare this to the Silverstone classic and it was not even on the same page

Being in Northern Ireland this probably won't get much response but I think it'll be on the BBCNolan breakfast show tomorrow morning

Which is always great for a laugh on the daily commute

They basically promoted this as Earls Court style and took 100k in ticket sales.

From what I gather they organisers aren't petrol heads and botched a few wedding shows prior to this flop

Afternoon,

This is Adam Kula at the News Letter daily paper in Northern Ireland.
We;re looking to speak to anyone who was at the Belfast Motor Show at the weekend. For many, it seems, the experience was not quite all it was cracked up to be.
If you wish, please email: adam.kula@newsletter.co.uk with your name and telephone number, and we'll try to get in touch as swiftly as possible.

Take care.

I was at it, worst show I've ever been to. Huge let down especially after the old days of the Ulster Motor show which are shown in the other pictures.

A chap from our local forums here was interviewed on the news & said that he expected a whirly-go-round around the corner. Thought that was hilarious!

The rest of the PHrs on the mainland probably don't understand the outrage about this event.

It was in every newspaper in Northern Ireland and was on both BBC and ITV local news

http://www.u.tv/News/Organiser-defends-Belfast-Mot...

http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/local-natio...

Let me put this in perspective.

Imagine if the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Earls Court Motor or Silverstone Classic Show advertised itself as the biggest motor show in the country.

Then people turned up and there was a huge complex with an Austin Allegro and a few other bangers.

Lempit was one of the guys on BBC defending it saying it was a great event he actually said

"i was involved in a car crash demonstration and i played the victim"

the whole event was car crash mate

Jeez, glad I didn't go.

The local Mx5 OC had a better show. No tanning salon though.
