Hello All,

Not for me this car thread trying to help my old man out!

He currently has a Kia Sedona which he uses to take the family out in and do tip runs etc.

But now after changing jobs and not having a company car he now needs it to be a daily driver also, doing a lot of motorway miles isnt too fun in a big bouncy Kia.

requirements:

Estate/MPV/4x4
Decent on fuel (35mpg plus on a run would be nice)
7 Seater seems to be a must have for him, although im sure he could be persuaded with 5 for the right car
Nice interior

So far on his list is a later model Mitsubishi Shogun, Zafira GSI (maybe a midlife crises) or an lpg'd jeep grand cherokee!

Any help on the above or new suggetsions widely appreciated!

Thanks

Newer shape Ford Galaxy - just did this myself and purchased a 2006 '56' plate 2.0 Zetec for £3495. It's brill.

Ford Galaxy or S-MAX will be very leggy at this budget.

As an alternative to the obvious suggestions there are some Peugeot 7 seaters in 307/406 guise

Plenty of 307s with 7 seats.

I guess it depends on the size of your passengers and whether or not you hate French cars.

Zafiras aren't that nice interior wise and depending upon what vintage the front seats are like a park bench to sit on.

I just bought an ex Police/Traffic Womble '04 LWB 3.2 Di-D Shogun to replace our old Pajero for £3.5k.

It's amazing. Drives like a car, is supremely comfortable, (I'm 6.4), and will turn in a shade over 30 mpg on a run.

It's higher mileage at 114k but other than some wear on the steering wheel and centre console and a bit of a questionable paint job I'm very impressed.

Wish I'd done is sooner to be honest. I loved my old Paj', but this is miles better in every respect.
