I've variously had a 1956 Ford Consul MK1, 1959 100E, 1961 Jag MK2 and a Porsche 928 as daily drivers. Now I'm in a Jag X350 but the Land Rover S3 I just bought may well get used quite a bit if the flooding in West London this morning was a guide.

Used to run the Griff, Sag, Integrale and 328 all as daily motors.
Fair play on the Tivs and the Lancia but a BMW 3 series?? Surely not that impressive wink

Just the e46 m3 for me. I thought I'd lose a fortune on it as a daily driver, but it's going tomorrow frown and it's worked out at 10p per mile over the last 2 and a half years so not bad at all!

Some great examples on this thread of our collective lunacy smile

I used this as a daily ( my only car at the time) for five years.

Then this for the first two years of ownership until I retired it from daily duties...

And replaced it with this which I used for five years, complete with rollcage...

And more recently this, complete with Alpha n and vocal carbon airbox...

In fact come to think about it I don't think I've ever used a sensible car as such, new baby ( gurgling type) inbound in September so all about to change!

^ I really like that M Coupe, I wish I had bought one a few years back when I was offered one at sensible money.

At the time I had an Impreza wagon, 1999 with PPP! The wife wanted something more economical so booked us in for a test drive for a Peugeot something or other... The px value was key to a deal being able to be done, rather than head straight to the dealership I detoured us via a few essential pickups, namely some fence posts to load up the roof rack, a load of straw bales and chicken food to load up the boot. When it came to the valuation for px it was much lower than expected, the deal became untenable, I was able to breathe easy for a while longer. I did have to vacuum the straw for a little while mind, but well worth it.

Current daily driver is a lotus Europa, before that a mini coupe cooper s, before that lotus Elise s 1.6, before that lotus Elise s 1.8 and then before that a kleeman stage 6 g wagen.

I have more sensible cars but they get left in the garage.

I've run an Evo as a daily for the last nine years. I dread to think what I've spent in fuel but I reckon it has been offset by the lesser amount of depreciation I have incurred (compared with colleagues chopping their mundane cars in periodically)
