Because at my current age and maturity it doesn't meet my requirements, I'd drive it far too hard smile It would be wasted on me!
Thing is, that's awfully mature of you.

In fact, so much so that you've just graduated to this:

Yep, you're Kamprad... well, minus the money. Boring, grumpy old beret wearing man territory.

Congratulations!

2005 Liberty GT - not as economical as a diesel, but fits all the other criteria.

Thanks, some really interesting and diverse suggestions! E39 5-Series Touring seems to be the PH favourite overall in facelifted 530i or 540i Sport guise. I'm pretty happy with that outcome. They still look great and pretty much anyone who wants one could afford one.

As expected, the uber estates (E61 M5, RS4 and RS6) were quite popular choices too but very surprised that the RS2 was nominated more than any of them!

Volvo 850/V70 was a popular choice as I expected. The V70 is a very good estate car but I think the 850 T5/R with its Touring Car kudos is the coolest Volvo estate ever. Mine's a T5-R in yellow please!

Loving the big Citroens too!

I'm really surprised that the W124 and E61/F11 535d hardly got mentioned though.

The thing with the E39 Touring, Volvos etc. is that they're realistic all-rounders and are large enough to be useful to the average family. - The RS4s, E63s etc. can only be considered if running costs don't come into it.

I'm not sure this is the 'best ever' but 159 Sportwagon looks sexy from the side, while, 'move over' aggressive at the front.

I'd like one anyway.

8c engine, rear wheel drive, hot cakes!

E39 Touring. 530i if you're feeling sensible, 540i if you're not.

What a lovely looking thing that is...

No mention of the Subaru Legacy? Mine was ultra reliable, and comfortable, and judging by the amount of ancient Legacy's I saw in the California mountains packed to rafters (reliable, did I say that before) and able to transport heavy goods for many many years.
Mentioned a few times.

Once by me on page 1.

Volvo 850 T5/T5-R/R for me too. Racing kudos, bullet proof mechanicals and you could fit a double bed in the back, now becoming a slightly appreciating asset too these days.

Like this one

But you can't have this one, it's mine smile
