Well after a few months of MGB GT ownership, i have found myself very close to chopping it in for ANOTHER MX5. I have had a mk2 1.6 poverty spec and a mk3 2.0 Sport and the one i will probably end up with tomorrow is a mk2.5 1.8 euphonic edition... Its a little bit crusty on the arches but apart from that it is lovely. I am hoping this will be the right car for me finally as i loved the mk2 to drive but it was too basic and the mk3 was a lovely place to sit but was abit too grown up.

Couldn't test drive it as it was out of fuel so going back for one tomorrow (if im still keen in the morning) and got a suspicion ill be driving back in another of the PH answer to everything... ....If i don't come across aload of rust.

silly

I take it all back, im not going for a drive in it. I have just rejogged my memory of rusting from the inside out, paying £300 to get my old mk2 through its MOT due to rust. Im not risking falling in love with it!

Anyone want to buy a MGB? thumbup

I'm really close to buying either a mx5 or an rx8 192. On a £1500 budget i think i'll need brave pills for the rx8!

I was about to post if you want something between an mk1/mk2 MX-5 and a mk3/3.5 MX-5 look at the MR2 Roadster (unless you like taking luggage with you).

Good choice on using your head instead of your heart. If the sills are rusty then under it will be even worse and dare I say it the front chassis rails will be non existent which on mx5 are hidden by plastic under trays.

I'm jealous, I had a mk2 (i think) for a couple of weeks as a courtesy car and it was great but I'm too tall to fit comfortably.
