I quite like it, although its like a fat Evoque or a poor mans RR Sport. Think I preferred the boxy styling of the current gen.I still like it
It looks like a reasonable evolution of the freelander, although I'm not a fan of the awkward looking rear quarter window, it was quite well hidden in the FL2, but this is a bit more rounded and out of place for my liking, and the rear lights are a bit ugly, but the rest of the car including interior looks good!

I think it looks awesome. Will it get a decent engine though, a four pot derv is a bit underwhelming.
What else do you expect it to have? Slip the 5.0 supercharged V8 in there? Be realistic, it's a family SUV workhorse, it'll have some 4-pot diesel engines and maybe a petrol one, but not in the UK.Beefmeister said:

Well, having the moniker Sport I'd expect to see a wider engine range with more choice for buyers. Sub 200bhp and about 10s to 60 are a bit limp. Perhaps a 6 pot derv with 250+ bhp and maybe a similar petrol. The supercharged unit from the Rangie would be lovely and a good idea for a halo model. And also about as likely to happen as the Range Rover Vogue getting a 1.0 3cyl turbo engine.
It's all about range positioning. I'll be happy to be proven wrong, but this will never get anything other than 4cyl engines. Especially with the new range of JLR 'Ingenium' engines coming along which are all 4cyl at launch.
I believe the engine is scalable, so a 2.0 4, 2.5 5, 3.0 6 are all possible, but they won't go into this Disco Sport.
Would you be saying the same of the engines if it was named Freelander 3?

The Discovery has plenty of choice of engines so I'd expect similar in the Sport, that's all.
I'm aware I'm coming across as a tt, sorry about that, but the Discovery is only available with the 3.0 SDV6 engine and has been for a while. There's 2 x V8 Disco 4s listed on autotrader fyi. I'd also be happy to see the SDV6 in the Sport, as I alluded to above. There you go - choice. We got there in the end
