A years commuting is about 8300 miles, so about £930 a year which is great with the performance on offer ~ 330bhp/tonne. I suppose I probably fill the dog cart at £80 about once a month, possibly less, and my car at £45 about 8 times a year, total £2500 adding in the non commuter bike use.

the RR is on it's way out....for a Defender (25 MPG on Diesel as opposed to 15 MPG for Petrol)
Is that a claimed 25 vs. an actual 15 though? If you're used to a RR then any sort of performance out of a Defender will require your foot welded to the floor.

I recently replaced my aging BMW FFRR for a Supercharged Sport and have discovered my Aston V8 Vantage gets superior mpg. So I use that as a daily and garage the L320.

Less than half what I spent when I had the subaru

I don't drive far but have gone from 240-260 per month to putting 60quid in every couple of weeks or so.

New car is more powerful too

10k p.a. in the 3.0 X-Type and S-Types
5k p.a. in the Cerbera

Expecting 10k p.a. in the XF but that's too new to have had an influence on the figures thus far as we've only put 2,500 miles on it so far.

20,000miles / 25mpg = 800 gallons = 3632 litres - round up to 3650 litres.
5,000miles / 20mpg = 250 gallons = 1135 litres - round up to 1150 litres.

XF projection = 10,000miles / 25mpg = 400 gallons = 1816 litres => 1850 litres.

Assume fuel is 140p/litre (I just run them all on V-power. Saves me thinking / laziness / because I can)

Last next = £6,720
This year's forecast = £9,310

I run a 5.0 V8 as a daily and it costs me about £190-£200 per month to fuel so based on £195 per month that is £2340.

Good job I have a 17 mile round trip commute otherwise it would rape me senseless :-)

Up until mid point this year between me and the mrs we spent around £20k on fuel a year running three cars. I'm embarrassed to say we used that much, with 85% of it work related.

Now we've both got different jobs we spend about £2k a year. Thank fck for that.

Generally £170 a month and get about 900-1000 miles out of it. Luckily I get mileage allowance meaning I probably only spend about £50. Bargain!

ETA: My Car's only a 1.4.

Rough calcs are for the past year: 12000 miles at 30 mpg = roughly £2300 on fuel

However, I am moving to Poole/Bournemouth soon so my mileage is likely to increase to around 20000 miles a year (will be doing less social driving as I will be living by all the bars! Yet my commute to work will double) therefore likely to be £3900 on fuel per year.

Car is a 1995 BMW 520i

With a daily commute of 5 miles each way and the odd weekend trips, annual mileage doesn't stack up to much.

Maybe £1500-2K tops

I was spending £76 a week in the months from May 2013 to March 2014, which was something like £3000. This is only commuting miles, so throw in the extra trips I was doing, journeys away etc, maybe I spend £4000?

Quite a bit, but also, not quite a bit. My car (civic 1.6) and motorcycle (sv650) are quite frugal
