Interesting. Downloading it now. Turmoil
The blame game begins:
To paraphrase....Chris bailed, Chris wasn't a team player, Chris didn't like getting less viewers, "I don't know him that well...pretty fking shameful to bail that fast."
https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-smoking-ti... 19 mins onwards.
Bridges burned. Chris will end up well above /Drivel

Matt Farah wouldn't know 'class' if it hung a doughnut in front of his nose. He admitted that he does little more than submit content for DRIVE and pick up a pay cheque from it - and that he's only hung out with Harris a few times. Then he starts talking about CH not being a 'team player' like they're all big buddies?
I wonder if NBCSN would have offered them another season if they knew that CH had been planning to move on. Without his input DRIVE will have all the credibility of TopGear USA.
Then again, listening to Matt Farah in that podcast, I honestly don't think he cares as long as there's some money in it for him, and there are people he can shout his opinion at...

I have to say though - it was a very enjoyable podcast, dirty laundry aside. I literally listen to ONE other podcast as normally they just bore me to death but listening to that was just like chatting cars in the pub with a mate - I really enjoyed it! I'll still watch whatever Chris Harris produces on YouTube but you have to admit it's pretty messed up how none of his co-presenters on Drive knew this was happening until they read about it on a public news source. That's pretty effed up.

and if you have look at JF Musiel's twitter feed it does seem like Drive + was an experiment.

Wow! Just listened to it... Talk about airing your dirty laundry.
Yep not good. As I said on the other thread... The fault is on their management to not lock in their contributors to a contract so this can't happen. It may not be a graceful way to leave but if there's nothing stopping someone leaving (a sinking ship) then there is little to cry about in reality. Anyone would think Chris had bills to pay, ambition and could not spot a dead business. Said it all when MF said they now wanted to make it an American brand. Good luck, all yours.Chicane-UK said:

If you can accept that it is 'American' in every respect, it is a great podcast for car people. They have some good guests and you can tell Farah really knows far too much about far too many cars.I'll still watch whatever Chris Harris produces on YouTube but you have to admit it's pretty messed up how none of his co-presenters on Drive knew this was happening until they read about it on a public news source. From the podcast it did sound like CH was in the management as he pushed the whole subscription service.
By the sound of it, and how it's been ran since subscription came in, there was a massive lack of management if anything.CHoC
Harry's Garage
Mighty Car Mods (still the best)
Roadkill

That's all you need and cost nothing. Shame there isn't a PH channel worth crowing about... Dan....

All of MotorTrend is pretty good not just Roadkill. But Roadkill also needs advertising to keep going these days (or to make some more money). Petrolicious is also awesome. There's an awful lot of excellent free content .Harry's Garage

Never subscribed to Drive+ and some of their stuff wasn't really interesting. A lot of After Drive episodes I wasn't really interested but at least they had a lot of variety in the original channel.
All the best to CH on his new venture although a lot of oversteering at Anglesey is also boring at times. The 512TR episode was awesome and I hope he produces a mix of things. As for Drive they'll need to go back to basics and build up from there I think.

Great news Drive has/is going down the pan.
I want Chris and Farah to team up as they have great on screen chemistry. Shame they live on different continents
Unfortunately it seems Mr Farah found out at the same time we did and that's not the gentlemanly thing to do as far as he's concerned. I want Chris and Farah to team up as they have great on screen chemistry. Shame they live on different continents
His side of it is at around 18:00 if I remember correctly

To be honest I just like their videos and don't pay attention to their outside persona but that seems to be the hot topic now.
He says, "More talented editors and shooters."
Hire them then! If these super talented editors and shooters exist that can churn out at 2x the rate but the same or higher quality (haha)
They're all a bunch of idiots imo. The YT subsidy ending was a line in the sand that they knew about years away and they just ran into it and then wondered how to make a business out of it.
A perfect example of how not to run a media businesses.
