It is all fairly subjective, anyone who has this sort of dough to blow on a car will buy whatever they want, I worked for someone who had a S65 (old shape) why?, because he could and it was £185k list, we then part ex it for a new RR Autobiography .......why, cos he could!, to go with the Phantom and Escalade. The residuals will be dire however be mindful that tyres are £150 plus a corner and brakes(discs and pads) are £300 plus a corner.......happy days!
£ 150 for tyres for one of these? You're having a laugh. And discs and pads £300? I had to put two new tyres on my X5 on Friday....admittedly it was an emergency (so full RRP) and they were RFT's but they were the princely sum of £457 a corner.....

Indeed, even the tyres in my 745i are over £200 per corner for decent rubber! I had to put two new tyres on my X5 on Friday....admittedly it was an emergency (so full RRP) and they were RFT's but they were the princely sum of £457 a corner.....

You miss the point of a V12. Instead of a V8 would you be happy with a highly strung 4 pot turbo?
Fair point. Maybe I am missing it. Just don't connect with the '65 cars for some reason as much as I find them cool. I don't think the hike in price is necessarily worth it for going 10% or so faster. I see the point of the V12 in the S600 though but then again, you can get an ECU on that & probably match the '65 anyways. Guess I just don't understand the lineup very well then.
