I grew to hate diesels after my Saab TTID.

Spent 12 years in non DPF PD engines before this DPF bks.

Never again after all the issues I had with my Saab

Guy with the Volvo, what engine do you have? I think there maybe one with the 1.6tdci that is also in a focus, it has one of the most popular dpfs in the uk. You can buy a decent aftermarket one for £150 with a warranty.

A lot of the time mechanics will change a dpf when it blocked, but you also need to check the dpf pressure sensors and pipes. Ideally Change the sensors too. Just tap in your car make and model on eBay with the words dpf sensors and you will see.

A new exhaust related fault is the fuel vapour valve....not cheap but another part on some modern diesels that regulate the temps.

EEC do good quality dpfs. However if you problem is something else that caused your dpf to become full, the new one will get blocked fairly quickly.

Sorry old chap, didn`t read or comprehend the other posters question properly,my 3yo had woken up and decided to watch the storm from our covered decking and was making some noise doing so,I cant do 2 things at once it seemssmile
It was made more as a comment on how poor egr systems are in light of how blocked they become over time and how little effect they could have on anything.
But my post clearly says that the egr has nothing to do with the dpf, which was main point for the post.
Many motors won't regen if the egr isn't working eventually leading to blocked dpf.
