I know a chap who bent the A pillar on his Ford Sierra due to his enormous bulk.

He couldn't physically get out of the car without pulling himself up/out using the A pillar, and after 3 years of this, the pillar began to crease smile

He was huge.

There is now way in hell I'd be giving a lift to someone who does not wear a seatbelt,

I once woke up next to something that should have had me chewing my arm off, being the gentleman I am I offered her a lift home which turned out to be in the roughest part of town (North Prospect, Plymouth).
Rolled her to the front door and proudly blipped the locks on my MGF. Bad enough watching her collapse into the chair, but pretty funny watching her trying to get out at the other end. Lots of huffing and puffing. rofl

Try sliding the seat back - if its all the way forward you may have less belt available depending on how its attached.

Get the wife to tell her that she will be in a different car for a few days as hers is going into a garage to get some suspension work for a few days.

Turn up with the courtesy car..

Rent the smallest courtesy car you can. A smart for2 or Fiat 500 or Toyota Aygo, something like that.

Fit GoPro inside car, hilarity ensues.

Hope fatty gets the picture (or at least send her the video and this thread). If not, then report to HR, something which should have been done by now anyway, as it's not fair and quite frankly dangerous (life-threatening so) to your wife to travel with weight the car can't handle.

You are all dreadful people. What if that carshare person read this thread?

They'd probably go and have a good cry. And eat 50 pies. Awful.

It's funny how overweight people have such difficulty spelling Cake.

Can you imagine what she'd be like if she didn't have such good self control.

You must be able to wangle a disabled badge out of this situation, & then that universal free-parking benefit will offset the inconvenience of car damage.

Apparently it's the passengers responsibility to wear the seatbelt - not the drivers.

http://www.rospa.com/roadsafety/adviceandinformati...

I thought it was the drivers - interesting.
I wasn't aware of that, it was my understanding that the driver of the vehicle is liable to take points for passenger(s) not wearing seatbelts correctly

Still, because I am the driver I ensure everyone has seatbelts on before I move off. At the end of the day, their safety is my responsibility
